While the new construction process can be long and stressful, Eternity Homes staff and their agent Julie VanDerostyne made it easy to make selections and kept us updated when materials weren’t available or other things impacted the schedule. We really appreciated the open communication. We love our new home!

Building with Eternity Homes was the worst experience of our lives. I would not recommend them to anyone. There name could not more accurately describe how long you will be waiting for your home...an eternity.
We finally closed this past month, a full 7 months after the original close date we were given. Upgrades we paid for at our selection meeting were not installed and we are still waiting for them to be fixed. On our final walk through, there were several items that we were told would be fixed/completed before the closing but they were not. After closing we still have patches on walls and missing trim work.
Additionally, two months before our closing, Eternity Homes held our house hostage and demanded additional money (a lot more money) in order to close. Attempts to negotiate were immediately shut down. If we did not agree to pay them their ransom they would cancel our purchase agreement. After already waiting 11 months for this house, this was not an option for us and we were forced to agree to this payment. Despite what Eternity Homes says nothing in our purchase agreement allowed them to do this. The Department of Labor and Industry subsequently fined them for this exact practice.

My wife and I purchased a spec home with Eternity. Going through the process we knew that we wouldn’t be able to make a whole lot of changes due to the fact that it was a spec home but we were willing to pay extra to make two subtle changes. First: we wanted to upgrade the electric range to a gas range. Eternity quoted us $4,000 to make the change and stated that it would be much cheaper to do this on our own after closing. In my opinion that was ridiculous because the home haven’t even been dry walled yet. Secondly, I wanted them to finish the landscaping and they quoted us an astronomical $15k to finish it. Even after we agreed to pay that price by adding it into our mortgage, which Julie (Eternity’s realtor) told us would be achievable, Pat was completely unwilling to make that change. We went back and forth on the landscaping issue for over a month, which got to the point where we just dropped the issue because it wasn’t worth the fight anymore. With all that being said I really enjoyed the time I spent with Jim (lead contractor) he is very knowledgeable and makes sure to take the time to make sure you understand everything regarding your new home.

We are in the midst of building with Eternity Homes and have been impressed with the amount of progess that has been made during the bitter cold months. The design selections were overwhelming but Pat was very helpful in that process. The online scheduling app makes it very easy to know what progress has been made and Ashley (in the home office) has been an excellent communicator making it easy to get answers to our questions. We are looking forward to moving into our beautiful new home in just a few weeks.

We are currently building with Eternity Homes and recently had our pre-construction meeting. It went very well. Pat was very knowledgeable on the plans for each home, the models and the properties. We were able to ask questions regarding changes and he knew what could and would work and what wouldn't. He provided suggestions based what we were looking for without pressuring us. As we walked through the plans he explained each page and called out the importance of items listed. He explained options, pros and cons and let us make the decisions. Julie kept right along with us by updating the pricing sheet and having all the paperwork ready to go at the end. Next steps were to approve plans. They got them to us in under a week which was sooner than they thought. Who doesn't love that! The plans were perfect with all requested changes made. Within the next day we had our selection meeting scheduled. They have come through and delivered what they said they would. We are excited for our build and can't wait for the next steps.

List of issues with Eternity Homes
1. On Sept. 29th (approx. a month before closing) we have submitted an inspection amendment with a list of issues that we had asked Eternity to fix, they agreed and signed. The form came back to us with some items scratched off the list. For example, installation of window screens was scratched off because they are inside the property and it is the homeowner’s responsibility to have them put on. Item #17 on the list stated that the dryer is making a loud noise, which is not normal for a brand-new appliance. On Nov. 17th, I have received a voicemail from appliance service letting me know that they have received an order from Eternity Homes to have the dryer replaced—the soonest appointment is Dec. 4th (which would have been 4 days after closing). I asked to delay closing due to yet another issue that will be discussed in the succeeding part of this review. Unfortunately, closing was unintentionally delayed because of some documentation issues on my buyer’s part. Our offer was approved by Eternity contingent upon the selling of my previous property. On Dec. 1st (would have been a day after we were supposed to close) I have received a phone call from my agent letting me know that she got a call from the listing agent that the washer and dryer are not included in the sale and they would be taken out of the property. We were told that the washer and dryer were never included in the original MLS hence the decision to take them out a day after closing. This left me with a question that yet to be answered: Why would Eternity let us know on Dec. 1st when closing hadn’t been delayed it was supposed to happen Nov. 30th. Why didn’t they let us know during the earlier stage of the negotiation when they had an opportunity to do so for a month. It is clear to me that the motivation behind Eternity’s action was the incurred delay in closing—again, there is contingency that both parties agreed to. Eternity had an opportunity to scratch the dryer off the list and tell us then that it is not included, but they did not. Because of this, assumption was made that the washer and dryer are included.
Result: After emailing the head, he made the decision to bring the washer and dryer back but for a cost that him, Eternity’s agent, and my agent had chipped in.
2. The original MLS listing had an electric range installed in the property included in the sale. I decided to have Eternity, for my convenience, install a gas line, have the microwave vented out, and I inquired about purchasing a new gas range. I initially asked if Eternity would give me a credit for the electric range. The listing agent told us in an email that the builder gets charge a restocking fee, so no credit will be given, but she said that most cost-effective way is to have me re-sale it. Because of this, assumption was made that the electric range will stay in the property. And because of that, I decided to pay Eternity $1500 alone for a new gas range that they would not even show me a photo or a model number when asked. My goal with this work order is to have them all done and operational when we moved in. I could have done it later after we move in for much cheaper, but for my convenience I opted to pay the fee.
Result: $3400 check was deposited to their account, but was surprised during our first walk-thru on Nov. 23rd (exactly a week before the original closing day), the job supervisor was not aware of the change order, and it was only then he found out about it by calling the listing agent whom by the way had missed that walk-thru for whatever reason.
Yet another result: Change order was fulfilled but was very disappointed that they had taken the electric range out from the property. We were told again that it wasn’t in the change order that Eternity drafted and that it was my agent’s responsibility to make sure that it was on written form. This is when I asked to delay closing (Nov. 30th) before closing was delayed for reasons stated above. I was fighting for the principle behind Eternity’s action of taking the range out when we were told I could re-sale it. It was the principle over the price tag.
The builder did not respond to our query weeks after this happened. At that time, I felt like they had used the closing delay opportunity to their benefit to give us loose threats. I was told that I could lose the earnest money and the money I had invested for the vent, gas line and range.
The builder’s decision: If I wanted the range back, they would charge me $200 and $125 interest per day until closing date is set, or they would waive all fees if I let go of the range. This did not make sense to me at all, why would I want to pay more money to get the electric range that was initially part of the property I am purchasing given the fact that I paid for the new range.

My wife and I are currently in the building process, and could not be happier up to this point. Pat is very upfront and open with pricing, and made going through the overwhelming selections process very easy. Pat even talked us out of an upcharge to a gas water heater because the ROI on fuel costs didn't make sense, which struck me as very honest. My wife and I did make a handful of custom options that Eternity Homes was happy to oblige. Our build location is not in a neighborhood development and Pat and his team have been very accommodating. I was surprised to see the footings in, the basement walls poured, and dirt backfilled all within two weeks. Looking forward to continue to work with Pat and the Eternity Homes team as we continue on to framing and the rest of our build!

We bought a home from Eternity Homes in October of 2020 and have had a good experience so far. We have had a few items that have needed repair in the first few weeks which was disappointing, but they have been quick to respond and send someone to make the repairs. The home was already finished when we purchased so I cannot speak to the building process, but they were very easy to deal with and made the closing experience very smooth.

I've read the above reviews well before we decided to build with Eternity Homes, and our experience was nothing short of professional and easy going. The reality is there are going to be a few bumps in the road with any build. Our experience with EH wasn't flawless, but when we addressed a concern, it was taken seriously and handled quickly. We looked at several other key builders in the area, but we decided on EH for a few reasons. They offered more options, many of their standard options are considered upgrades by other builders, their lots were larger, home spaced out more, and they offer the ability to have a 4 car garage AND a Sport Court. Our experience was less stressful than what we expected, as this was our first build. The selection process was pretty easy, they had all the samples on site so we were able to see everything up front. Once we got to the build, they provided regular updates and photos with the next steps and dates of upcoming work. We had a few delays with COVID, but they still managed to hit the deadline to get us to closing without extending our lease on the rental home. Overall, VERY happy with the quality, workmanship, and overall process. I don't know what more we could have expected from ANY builder. Now that we are in the home, and could not be happier!!!! Customer service has been great to work with on a few minor items that needed to be addressed. As with our experience during the build, they were on top of it quickly and had great follow up.

I would highly recommend NOT using this company unless you want an endless amount of lies and home problems! We built our house in July 2019 and throughout the year we turned in things that were wrong and were often times told to wait until the 1 year, which we agreed to. In January 2020 we turned in a large bowed patio window that was separated from the casing and cold air was coming through. We were told to wait until the 1 year. Pat came through 2 weeks ago and said he finds that hard to believe and had no interest in looking at the pictures we provided. Shortly after moving in our microwave started turning our cabinets white from the exhaust. We received a response from the project manager that sometimes that happens and they would fix it at the 1 year. Pat on the other hand responded with we must be using it wrong! SERIOUSLY?!!! When he came out on our 1 year he changed his answer to we must use it more than most people. Really?! He told us we should go buy a piece to fix it!! A couple weeks into moving in we had 2 separate leaks from the bathroom upstairs. 1 tub leak and another from his guys screwing the mudroom closet shelves into the sewage pipe! We had raw sewage running down our walls. They were quick to come out and repair both leaks, but when it came to repairing the walls, it stayed like that for a long time until I threatened to sue him. We have learned from many past subcontractors that walked off the job and former employees that he refuses to pay subcontractors to come back. We are currently fighting about our master bathroom which squeaks and shifts as you walk across the tile. We approached our concerns with this staff prior to our walk through and were reassured it would be taken care of. WRONG! Pat came out, but didn't even walk into the bathroom. Don't you need to actually walk into the room to investigate the problem in question? Instead, he stood back in the master bedroom with his arms crossed as we walked across it and said there is nothing he can do about it and blamed it on friction of the duct work with the extra weight from the tile. He said if the floor was loose, there would be cracks but yet he didn't even come into the bathroom to look for cracks. He said he couldn't get a subcontractor in there to fix it, but he lied because he uses his own guys for tiling. He simply didn't want to pay for it. I grew up in the contracting industry and know full well the difference between duct work noise and a moving floor that was not securely glued down. We have had 3 contractors and a tiler out to confirm he is not being truthful, and yet he still refuses to fess up and told his staff he looked at it!! This is an outright lie. All 4 professionals have told us either the sub floor is not secured to the joists or the cement floor is not glued to the subfloor, but the floor is literally moving as you walk and is very noisy and getting worse. They have all said the tile is secured to the subfloor, which is why it hasn't cracked yet, but will with time and it needs to be all ripped up and redone. We have 9 different squeaks in our house from the floors not being secured well and loose floor boards: 1 squeak in kitchen, 1 squeak in living room, 1 on stairs, 1 in hallway, 1 in loft, 3 in kids' bedroom, and 1 major squeaking noise the whole length of the master bathroom. We paid a ridiculous amount for this house and should not be hearing all of this after just 1 year. We are very aware that houses shift causing issues that need to be repaired but find 9 is a lot, especially when he agrees to fix anything under the carpet but wont touch the bathroom because it involves ripping up tile. My complaints and things that happened along the way are endless. If you think I am just 1 angry customer think again. His reviews are paid for! You are offered $100 at closing for posting a good review and even told us you need to drowned out the bad reviews!!! Every house in our neighborhood has had similar experiences with Pat. Use a reputably builder that doesn't pay for reviews!

I would absolutely NOT recommend building a home with Eternity Homes. The customer service is awful...it takes weeks, sometimes months, to even get a response and then even longer to get things completed. The owner of the company, Pat Flynn, is extremely arrogant and always has an excuse for why something was missed or incorrectly done. The houses Eternity builds are OK but the process to getting the home completed is not worth the time, stress or money. Take your business elsewhere.

We recently purchased our new custom home from Eternity Homes. This is the second new build that we have done so we knew what to expect when working with a builder. We absolutely love our new forever home. Pat takes pride in all of his homes and is easy to work with. Even though he is a busy owner, he took the time to answer our questions and make sure that our needs were met. Kevin is the site supervisor and he is the man who gets things done. He was very accommodating during our walk through and did not give us any pushback on our requests. My recommendation is that if you are interested, go to an open house and you will be able to decide for yourself on the quality of these homes. Also save money for upgrades. You get what you pay for so plan on spending extra money for a truly custom design or high end finishes. Plan ahead. Search for designs and styles that you want and bring those ideas to the selections meetings. Don't be afraid to ask for anything. Push the ceilings up, heat the floors, widen the driveway, make the closets bigger, or make it a smart home. Pat will gladly give you a quote for your ideas. This is a fun exciting time. Make sure that you enjoy it!

Communication during the building process was challenging but in the end Pat made things right, we are thankful for that and would definitely recommend Eternity Homes!

We bought a model home from Eternity Homes earlier this year and have been very satisfied with the materials, look, layout, and overall value. Our house included a deck, landscaping, sprinkler system, granite countertops, and appliances. It even has convenient eye level outlets for wall mounted TV. The first and final walk-thru was very helpful, they had Kevin spend time with us noting items. He explained all the warranties that comes with the new house. Customer support has been great with questions after buying home.
I would highly recommend anyone to consider buying or building house from Eternity.

My husband and I built our home with Eternity this past summer. Our home was finished in the fall and we closed in October. Having never built a home before, we were pretty clueless as far as the process of building. Eternity was very helpful in walking us through the process and making sure we had a clear understanding of all the details involved in building. We built the Heritage Model and absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! Pat and Eva are amazing to work with and we couldn't be happier with the well built home. I would highly recommend Eternity Homes for building your next home!

The houses Eternity Homes build are unlike any other builder in Minnesota. We moved into our house in November 2018 and the quality of the house is exactly what we wanted in my forever home. Yes, we had our issues, but for a project this big and for how many houses they build we are very happy with the final product. We would and already have recommended this builder to our family and friends. A few tips if you are looking into this builder are:
1. Know exactly what you want. Pat isn't very patient. If you don't go into the meetings fully prepared the meetings can go south quick.
2. Don't be afraid to upgrade to get your perfect house. They know what they are doing. It is better to add that canned light or sport court now rather than later.
3. Don't be afraid to change the floor plan. They boast on how customizable they are. Take advantage of it and if you take down walls or doors they will reimburse you to offset some of those upgrades you choose.
4. Be aware that some upgrades will cost more than they will tell you. For example upgrading to gas range, they quote you for putting in the gas line, not the upgraded appliance. Same goes if you upgrade to the bigger fridge.
5. Last, but certainly not least, study the prices. They change and if they change make sure you pay the price you were originally quoted for. Save every document and keep them readily available. -

Home buyers beware. I am absolutely disgusted with Pat and his incompetent staff. We were quoted a price during the Parade of Homes, submitted a contingent offer based on that price and was then told a week later that oops, Nicole misquoted you by more than $64,000! Textbook bait and switch by these guys. I got some lame excuse from Pat (the owner) that they weren't armed with the correct sales numbers for the house we put an offer in on. Really?? This house was part of the Parade of Homes and you can't accurately answer a direct pricing question for a home you paid to have a sales person camped out in for several weeks? After hearing the news that Pats sales staff can't do basic math, we were contacted 3 different times with 3 different sets of numbers from the same sales agent. We ended up having a face to face meeting with Pat, Nicole and my agent to see if we could come to an understanding. After the owner showed up 35 minutes late, he and Nicole fumbled through numbers and were obviously making things up on the fly. Pat could rattle off the difference in price from going from a concrete porch to a cedar porch, but couldn't tell us the base price of a house he designed, built and sells. What a joke. Fast forward 1 week: We called to give them one more chance to quote numbers for a custom build. This time we got Julie. We had 15 line items we wanted them to bid out. They addressed 5 of them. We also asked for 2 different models to be quoted. They quoted only 1. We literally felt like we were begging them to take our business and they couldn't give us the time of day. Either the owner doesn't have a handle on his team, or they are all just plain incompetent. They are dishonest, lack integrity and have no clue what customer service is. DO NOT BUILD WITH THEM- EVER

While the quality of the final product is OK, the process to get there is horrible. As mentioned in other reviews, Pat is without a doubt one of the most arrogant and rude people I have ever met. He will threaten to sue you if you go public (BBB) with any complaints. I am/was an owner of one of the homes he built and it was by far the worst experience I have ever been a part of. The wrong materials were ordered and then installed on the house. The response from Eternity was taken it or leave it, but we will not fix it or compensate you fairly. Customer service is a joke as it takes months to get anything fixed after the closing. I cannot warn you strongly enough to stay as far away as possible from this builder. You will regret working with him.

I agree with the other reviewer above. The owner is not only arrogant, but he lies and will cheat you out of money. Trust me when I say, steer clear of this contractor. Yes, I am a customer, a very dissatisfied customer. He still owes me $2000 that he cheated me out of at closing back in July of 2014.

For quality of workmanship and handling of the construction process you can definately find better. Pat is probably one of the most arrogant people that you will work with so hopefully you don't have to.

We just moved into our home that Eternity built. First of all, lets be honest with ourselves. Being a home builder in todays world isnt easy. Eternity delivered close to the timeframe they said from the very beginning. This is no easy task with the material shortages, supply chain issues, and labor shortages. Now, I'm not going to say the whole process was perfect and no concerns as it was being built. We were anxious homeowners. Any builder you get is going to have things not fit the original schedule when you sign the contract. Weather problems, permit and inspection timing, and so on can alter that process for ALL builders.
We got to customize our floorplans. We got to make the selections for everything in the home. The quality of the materials is great. Granite countertops throughout the home. The interior doors are solid wood, not hollow core like most homes. The trim is solid wood not composite press wood. The trim is larger than the standard 3 1/4 base and 2 1/4 casing. The quality of the home is really good.
We closed in the winter so we are waiting on some exterior things like final grade and a driveway, but they said they will get on it as soon as the ground thaws and weather allows.
Come join the neighborhood. You will be glad you did.
