This general contractor, James M Hoffman, is fraudulent. He also uses the business name V.I.P Homebuilders. He is very communicative and attentive in order to win the job. He received our 18k materials draw from the loan closing, paid a few things and had a small job done, to keep the con going and then disappeared with 10k. He will not answer calls or texts. I have filed a report with the pa attorney general against license #PA071963

The worst person to hire, he not only inflated the price to do a work that was not necessary, but never started the job , and never return the deposit given to him . The job was done by another professional by less than half the price and nothing to destroy to fixed the problem. Totally irresponsible and not honest. Never hire a person like that.

He is good at being extra communicative and makes it look like he’s going the extra mile for you. He actually goes the extra mile to make you trust him and then extorts money and doesn’t do the work. He would even tell workers that you are not paying directing their anger at you. We tried to work with him and gave him the benefit of the doubt and all he did was ask for more money and get nothing done as well as bringing angry workers who thought we wronged them. The minimal work he did was done wrong causing damage and more costly problems and work. Most unprofessional, fraudulent snd dishonest person I have ever encountered. We had to involve the police, BBB, his insurance, the attorney general and in the process of proceeding with additional legal action.
