I had the misfortune of hiring FC Pools to redo a pool remodel for me.
Before hiring Amos Ezrachi, I specifically asked if this was a family business. Only sub contractors showed up, Amos mislead me.
There was very little oversight by the project manager of their subs and all he could ever say was there subs “were the best” and “I have complete confidence in them.”
Not only did Amos mislead once, but on another occasion he out right lied. I paid for the re-plumbing of the entire pool but the new pipes were stopped about 10 feet short of the pool equipment which is now under a stone walkway. I guess Amos didn’t want to bother to tear out the equipment pad. This was shortsighted on his part and was absurd when this small 24 square foot section wasn’t torn up when FC Pools demo’ed 1800 square feet of concrete demolition of the existing deck. Talk about “penny wise and dollar stupid.”
At the beginning of the project I asked the project manager how long this would take to complete the pool renovation and was told about 6 weeks. After demolition was done about 5-10% of the rubble, mostly rebar and concrete remained in the shallow end of the now empty pool for 4 months, despite repeated requests by me to have it removed. The rubble prohibited other tasks in the pool shell of the pool to be completed.
Eventually, after in “losing my cool” the rubble was removed and a few cracks were repaired. The repairs were not done per the contract specifications, shortcuts were taken, and when called out about this, the repairs had to be torn out and redone. Then the project manager tried quickly to start the re-plastering process but I was weary that a real inspection never took place.
It was difficult to get Amos to come out and do a thorough inspection. Substantial delamination was finally found at the bottom of the pool. Because they wanted to plaster the pool, this repair came fairly swiftly.
Amos unilaterally made decisions on the re-plumbing of the pool and took shortcuts I found out later. I had 4 functioning pumps running my pool, a filter pump, a jacuzzi pump, a blower for the jacuzzi and a separate pump for my automatic pool cleaner. To save on plumbing fees, Amos reduced all that functionality to a single pump. The functionality I had no longer exists and because a major renovation on the deck by a separate company was being done at the same time these changes were irreversible. I’m glad Amos was able to save some money at my expense.
FC Pools best customers are those that sit in their house being blind, deaf and mute.
Hiring FC Pools turned out to become a horrible experience on so many levels, BUYERS BEWARE.
