We hired Fernandez Painting this past December to do paint our interior first floor (living room, dining room, bath and family room), based off the earlier reviews. I am quite surprised by the recent negative reviews because Willie and his crew did a great job, especially with repair and replacing some of the damaged baseboards and moldings. We also had a bathroom plumbing issue that arose while they were here and Willie was able to help us fix that and did not charge us. The job took a few days longer than I had hoped but what contractor is completely on schedule, and with the baseboard and molding issues it added extra time. Willie gave us a fair rate and his work was excellent, with no drippings of paint left on floors or windows. We will definitely use Fernandez Painting for our exterior this Spring.

By a user in VancouverNovember 30, 2017Paint and replace trim
I had the same experience as Deidre. He was hired to paint and replace trim around doors and windows for 1500 square feet. He took $4800 and promised it would be completed by November 17th. My family was coming for Thanksgiving for the first time so this was very important to me. This was stated prior to hiring him and he promised it would be completed by this date. During the job I questioned his ability to finish the job. After more than 15 days the job was not completed and an absolute disaster. He cut through my baseboards to fit the trim instead of cutting the trim. He did not use any primer to cover dark walls and did not fill any holes. There are areas he did not even paint. It is worse now than when he started. I had paint all over my wood floors and windows. I was contacted by email by his wife, the owner, to offer to complete the job and promised it would be better. She blamed the mess on his helper who only showed up a few days. The work provided was nowhere near $4800 and then I was threatened to be taken to small claims court for another $2000. This is outrageous. The job is so bad with nail holes, yellow paint showing through, streaking, clumps of filler in the seams of the trim, cutting through my original baseboards. All I have to say is save yourself and hire another painter.
Response from Fernandez Painting, LLC December 25, 2017This client changed the dates for us to continue the work on a regular schedule and never mentioned the exact date to finish. She only mentioned "before Thanksgiving." After completing 95% of the work, this is when she stopped the project and said we were doing a poor job. The only work needed to complete this project were touch-ups. She was there everyday and said nothing about us doing a poor job until it was time to pay. She withheld $2,000 from us and we were going to walk away from it, but now that she is lying about our dealings with her, we have no choice but to sue her in small claims court. She was a verbally abusive person to the workers, all that were there, even other contractors. This was a ploy for her to not pay us. First, she said we could come back and finish and then changed her mind after we set a date. There was only one day of work left on the job and she withheld our final pay. She sent texts at midnight and screamed over the phone many times to hurry up an finish. There were days we could not go because of other contractors being there. She is a first rate liar and a very mean person. I can't imagine this Doctor has any good bedside manner after dealing with her! -
By Karen D.May 11, 2017paint house inside and out$4,000
I first contracted with Fernandez Painting through Home Depot's Red Beacon referral service three years ago. Since then, Willie Fernandez and his crew have painted two houses for me - inside and out. They did a very professional job while being courteous and attentive to any particular concerns I had regarding the projects. They also did a great job of clean-up at the end of each work day, displaying very good work ethics.
I am rather particular about the level of competence in the people I hire for home improvement projects and I am very satisfied with this company's work. I would definitely hire them again and I highly recommend them to others. -

Willie and his crew were great! I was referred to him by a co-worker and had already received other bids through Home Depot and Angie's list. Willie told me he was also a contractor with Home Depot , and I know they do background checks on all business so I felt pretty good when I looked him up. We had our interior painted and they did a great job and were willing to work with us on so many colors we had and didn't charge us extra. I will definitely hire him again for future projects!

By Deidre B.April 22, 2017Verified Hirepainting project
I was promised that Willie was a perfectionist, but he couldn't even paint my house because of gout. When he did paint, he left streaks. My house is still not finished, but he has my $4,000 and I paid an additional $1,000 for paint on my own.
Response from Fernandez Painting, LLC December 26, 2017The streaks were left because the dry waller before us did an incredibly poor job. They told us to paint anyway and did not have to redo it. We were told that she was in the process of suing the drywall company. She cancelled the project 3/4 of the way through. We were scheduled to do the exterior and she cancelled her signed contract. It was a breach of contract. She, like others we have dealt with was extremely verbally abusive. Her husband made an inappropriate comment about Latinos (but said "Mexicans"--the owner is not from Mexico, he is from Honduras) and we have contacted the ACLU about their civil rights abuses to workers. We have also contacted the State Attorney General's Office for lying about our company. They are still upset with us and want money returned. Their attorney refused to accept their case. So now they are trying to put a bad image on our company because they are racist abusive owners who flip houses for a living and try to get everyone to do the work for free. Contractors Beware. Terrible paint job.. I am sitting my house right now looking at the awful job on the trip and baseboards. Hopefully he has improved now, when we hired him 4 years ago, it was a disaster. He had a cheap bid. He did not stick to the schedule at all!
