I would not recommend this carpenter to anyone. We ordered knotty alder cabinets, and after paying $9000.00 for the cabinets-- without countertops due to a final disagreement after installation--we found the interior of the cupboards were actually made of carpenter-grade particle board instead of the maple finished interior we had spoken of. Upon review, he did list OSB interiors on the quote, but the carpenter who built our house said they did not appear to meet that standard. He had reason to know this, as he ended up retrofitting our cupboards after the initial installation, since Mr. Feser unaccountably allowed a 2-inch space at the end of one cabinet run that we could not afford to lose due to the small size of our kitchen and the fact that the design had a trim board already set up for the cupboards to fit to the end of the wall. He had measured and not mentioned this 2 inch space in all the conversations we had. We had designed the kitchen with a corner sink and open cabinet underneath, but Mr. Feser did not agree with our design and despite agreeing to "fix" the design upon installation, but he showed up with a rectangular box he intended to cut open and set another small box into rather than allowing the whole area for use. These boxes were also of the particle board, and he insisted this was the way he needed to do this to support the undermount sink and quartz countertops. This was the disagreement that caused us to dismiss him rather than have him install the countertops. He was asked to remove the cabinets as well, but never did. Two days ago the upper level sliding insert in the island cupboard fell apart. He had pieced the particle board in layers to form the support for the slides and upon taking it apart for repair, we found he had tacked it together with fine brad nails and some glue, but had not even had screws long enough to reach all the way to the outer cabinet wall! We had to have the house carpenter come out to fix this as Mr. Feser stated he could only come out if we had paid the account in full. For countertops he never installed? I am appalled at the cost of these very poor quality cupboards. The shelves are the put a peg in the slot adjustable type you can buy at any box store, the drawers are all different sizes, even those that appear to be matching drawers. Not a single corner is anything other than one board butted up against the other. Many of the doors are already warped and don't close tightly, and the island sits crooked on the floor where he installed it. The installation was less than six months ago.
