On November 3rd, 6 months ago now, my mother recommended this company to do my windows in my house. I sat down with Jimmy and they threw me a hell of a sales pitch. He told be he hopes to have the windows done before Thanksgiving, if not definitely before Christmas. He told me he was going to put the order in immediately and that he did not have to measure my windows because he has the measurements of them already through google... I thought that was strange and have never knew you could do that... but I'm very new to this and gave him the benefit of the doubt.... handed him a deposit and then he disappeared for a short time. He was very bad at keeping in touch, constantly screening my calls (I know this because If I called from an unfamiliar number he would answer) and always had an excuse. Anyway... he did not make his Thanksgiving or Christmas dead line... then finally in early February he sends "His best window guy" to measure the windows at my house... obviously the Google measurements was a made up thing... then he finally puts the order for the windows. 3 weeks go by and the windows show up at my house, so I put them in my garage and inform him that they have arrived. Then he tells me he should be there by the weekend. He tells me he will be here next weekend every week for a little over a month before he finally sets up a date. Mind you he is still very difficult to get a hold of and never has a definite answer. So he tells me he will finally be sending a crew and I need to take off Monday and Tuesday. Monday morning he calls me and says his guys are stuck on another job and will be there in the afternoon... those guys never showed up. I took a day off for nothing. But Tuesday morning a DIFFERENT CREW shows up and takes out 4 of my windows... and when they went to put the new windows in NON OF THE WINDOWS THAT HIS "BEST WINDOW GUY" MEASURED FIT! THEY WERE ALL OFF BY AN INCH... ALL 13 WINDOWS. And they broke 4 of my windows coming out... so they SCREW my windows back in and left... now I can't even open them... a week later he sends another crew to remeasure all the windows... but then decides he wants to make these windows fit by hacking up my frames. I told him to give me my money back and take these windows back... again... a month of screening my calls goes by as I sit here with no money to move on and screwed shut windows... thanks fhr construction.
Update: finally got some of my money back. Jimmy shows up at my house and offers to properly reframe my windows and trim on him. He figures he would rather lose on material then the 4k on windows. Makes sense. He gives me some time to think about it. After he leaves that night I call him to take him up on his offer thinking... hell how much more can he really mess up... I made it this far... BUT CAN YOU BELIEVE HE BLEW ME OFF. He did answer me... I called him the next day... he told me he would call me back and never did... so now I have these windows sitting in my garage and I still have to chase him for the rest of my money
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY.
THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER RESPECTABLE COMPANYS. Do not make the same mistake I have.

By Barbara R.May 18, 2019Home improvement bedrooms$4,000
They were professional and did a wonderful job on my roof. When I contracted with them for a home improvement job they hired an incompetent subcontractor. I had to hire an electrician to repair the electrical damage and a painter to repaint the rooms properly. The amount of cleanup left for me in the basement was not acceptable. The job ran three weeks longer than promised.

Jim {FHR owner} and I contracted to remove 2 layers of shingles and install a deluxe 30 year GAF roof system plus all new 1x6 composite facial boards plus a new chimney cover and cap. Site foreman Steven and his crew did a great professional installation and clean up, all in 1 day. I am a very satisfied FHR customer -

I have to say that I have also used FHR CONSTRUCTION and had a very different experience. I found them to be very professional and his crew were respectful. I had new siding and windows put on my house after a house fire and couldn't believe how quick and clean the job was done. I am writing this because at a very stressful time for my family...it was reassuring to see a contractor who was reassuring and sympathetic to our situation. so.. thank you Jim for helping us get back into my home so quickly.

VERY disappointed with this company. I do not write a lot of reviews, but felt very strongly about writing this one. The owner Jim comes in and says he is not a salesmen, just the owner. That couldn't be further from the truth. If we didn't get him as a referral from someone, just based on his SALESMEN speech I would have never used him. He is over the top annoying. After hiring him and giving him $15,000 for our new roof and calling him with issues, he has still one month later not returned my calls. His crew left a tremendous amount of garbage and nails all over the property and a few nails were stepped on, puncturing a hole in my child's foot. It went right through the shoe and punctured the foot, causing it to bleed and needing a tetanus shot. And still no call back, or come to fix the few things that were damaged. BEWARE. I'm not trying to ruin someone's business, just being truthful.

Signed a contract with FHR and got the run around for a year. When the finally showed up they installed ther wrong material. Took them to small claims court, won the settlement and they refused to pay. Now the sheriffs are trying to collect. He's a one man show who uses any sub contractors he can get. This is what you will be dealing with if you go with Jim at FHR
