    If you're considering Fierro Construction, save yourself the headache and just torch your house instead. It'll be less traumatic than dealing with these clowns.

    Our "18-week" project dragged on for a mind-numbing 16 months. From day one, it was a total dumpster fire. Constant screw-ups, shoddy workmanship, and a complete lack of competent oversight nearly drove me insane. Three years later, their "handiwork" is already falling apart.

    About me: I've got construction experience, so I know what a real contractor looks like. Fierro ain't it.

    The job: Convert our San Francisco Victorian's basement, knock down a kitchen wall, and replace some siding. Simple, right? Wrong.

    Timeline: A complete joke. We started in November 2019, expecting maybe 9 months tops. Covid hit in March 2020, but we were already months behind by then. The owner, Juan, kept insisting we were "1-2 months away" from finishing. Either he was lying or clueless – take your pick. We finally wrapped up in February 2021, a full year late.

    Project "Management": For the first 6-8 months, Juan's idea of supervision was a 30-minute Friday walkthrough. After I complained, they brought in a guy named Manny who was about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. I had to teach him basic stuff like how to hang a door properly.

    Highlights of their incompetence:

    1. Front stairs disaster: Their brilliant idea to dig under our front steps caused them to collapse. It's a miracle no one died. The replacement steps were built wrong, and the new porch is already falling apart.

    2. Basement floor fiasco: They poured a concrete slab with a 2-3 inch slope across 20 feet. If I hadn't caught it, we'd have had a fun house basement. Fixing it was a noisy, dusty nightmare that pissed off the entire neighborhood.

    3. Foundation fumble: Their caveman approach to shoring warped our first-floor hardwood. We had to rip it all up and replace it.

    4. Endless smaller screw-ups: Visible drywall seams, paint slapped on hardware, leaky skylights, doors that don't close right, you name it.

    Three years later, we're still dealing with their handiwork:
    - Outdoor drains that don't drain
    - A basement bathroom that clogs constantly
    - Gaps in trim work inviting water damage
    - Doors dragging on floors

    In short, hiring Fierro Construction is like paying someone to set your money on fire while they destroy your house in slow motion. Unless you enjoy living in a construction zone for years and having a home that's held together with duct tape and prayers, run far, far away from these jokers.

    If you still want to hire them after reading this, do yourself a favor: Line up a good divorce lawyer, book a stay at a mental hospital, and start Googling "how to make arson look like an accident." Don't say I didn't warn you.
