I contracted Figueroa 2nd Generation Construction to replace my roof which was old but not leaking. I got 3 estimates and unfortunately choose Figueroa even though they weren't the lowest estimate. I opted for a complete tear off and replacement. The roof was torn off, replaced and completed in 2 days. The worked seemed satisfactory but during the first high wind shingles were flying off the roof. I retrieved the blown off shingles which were Atlas lifetime architectural shingles rated at 130 mph. I checked the shingle manufacturer installation instructions and discovered that all the shingles were nailed incorrectly which voided the wind warranty. The shingles were nailed with 2 nails 3 inches apart near each end and no nails in the center section of the shingle. The shingles were supposed to have 4 nails spaced equally apart. I contacted Figueroa 2nd generation and they came out the next day. I showed him the installation instructions and the blown off shingles. I also informed him that the roof vents were not installed correctly and the roof vents were left 60 to 75 percent blocked by the roofing felt and shingles which defeated the effectiveness of the vents and would cause premature shingle failure and roofing deck damage. They proceeded to hack pieces out of shingles and nailed some shingles down and patched up what was a new roof (4 months old). I was really disgusted with the patch job that was being done on my new roof and just wanted them to leave. One week later the wind blew more shingles off the roof. After witnessing the unsatisfactory patch job Figueroa roofing did the week before I contacted another roofer and had the newly blown off shingles replaced and the repair work that Figueroa Construction did corrected. The entire roof had to be re-nailed by adding 2 more nails to every shingle. The new roofer also informed me that Figueroa Construction used a reversed architectural shingle for a starter row which some roofers do to save money and increase their profit. He showed me how it created a high spot on the first row of shingles and there was not a glue strip where it was needed. The roofer also told me that Figueroa should have used ridge shingles instead of cut 3 tab shingles for the roof ridge which also increases their profit. The roofer explained that the shingle manufacturer requires proper nailing, using the correct starter row and ridge shingles to fully warranty the roof. I am disgusted that after paying Figueroa 2nd Generation for a new roof, I had to pay another roofer to repair that new roof. I paid Figueroa Construction to professionally replace my roof and got exactly the opposite. The only good thing is that I didn't have Figueroa replace the roof on my garage and that I didn't recommend his services to any of my friends. I would not recommended Figueroa 2nd Generation Construction; Do Not Use This Roofer!!!

I'm a real estate developer and I've dealt with a lot of roofers and tuck pointers. Figueroa 2nd Generation is the best I've ever worked with. They are extremely professional and their work is impeccable. They are always on time and they work really hard. They don't cut any corners. I use them on all of my projects and will continue to do so.
