First Response General Contractors

I assume and hope they did the job correctly but haven’t been up on the roof to see. It was patching a portion of my (flat) roof and replacing a few shingles over my porch. They did not clean up after they were done. They left a pile of nails screws and staples on my lawn and driveway. They used the outside hose but did not turn it off. The problem is that the outside faucet has a very significant leak when turned on. I didn’t notice till the next day that the water was on and my lawn was like a swamp. There were also a couple additional problems but I would probably run out of room here. I called the worker and he basically said he has no reason to believe that any of that happened. I then called the owner and he didn’t want to hear any of it and he did not care about any of it and was quite rude in texts that we had back and forth. Neither the worker nor the owner ever had anything to say in the way of an apology…not anything at all. I asked for a 10% senior citizen discount to be sent to me due to the inconveniences and aggravation of dealing with them for approximately four or five days. He offered me 5% and stuck to it and I was sticking to 10%. His final words were basically that he didn’t understand what the problem was and all I had to do was put up with some sloppy roofers. I discontinued communicating with him and filed a better business bureau complaint which is in the process right now. I am 66 years old and have had many different repairs, installations, etc. and have never dealt with anyone this ignorant and rude. No one ever did come back to clean my driveway. I think the most insulting thing was that there were no words of apology or feeling sorry for the issues. (Like I said, there were additional issues than what I mentioned above.) They clearly live by the theory that if you apologize for something, it means you have done something wrong. This owner was neither nice nor fair nor ethical. I asked him if he cared about his reputation and did not get an answer.
