People say that lightning never strikes twice. Well, I’m here to say that this is the second time we have contracted with Fitzhauer & we're still impressed!
Back in 2021 we hired them to replace some windows & they looked so good, it made us take notice of just how run-down our stucco exterior had become. Then we remembered that our consultant, Jonathan, had mentioned Tex-Cote, an alternative to painting, during our first encounter. 10 times thicker on average than ordinary paint, it can lower surface temperatures by as much as 40 degrees. We regularly see temps over 100 every summer in Temecula so this was a real selling point. We invited Jonathan back to our home.
Any company can slap paint on a house & call it good, but like I said in my last review, it takes a special group of people to make you feel completely confident that you're doing business with the right people. Jonathan’s incredible friendliness & professionalism as well as Jessica & Angela’s outgoing progress updates were just the precursor of good things to come.
Fitzhauer sent Antonio to head up the job of transforming our tired house into a showcase. To say that this man just prepared our home for coating is an understatement. He wasn’t a hired worker so much as he was more like the kind uncle everyone wishes they had. He went above & beyond professional. He & his team took personal interest in this project, caring for our home as if it were his own, making sure everything was just right. He checked in each morning with a smile on his face & proudly showed me their progress before leaving each night. His friendly attitude was infectious & given the pleasure he seems to take in his work, I can’t help but wonder if he doesn't do this more for pleasure than a paycheck.
In preparation for the coating, Antonio’s team dug a trench around the entire outside of the house to make sure the Tex-Cote covered all the way down to the foundation & not just what showed. They drilled out & filled all the cracks in the stucco, unlike the other guys who just spackle over them. They also caulked every gap between wood & stucco so that the coating to come would be sealed & clean. All the plants growing against the house were trimmed back to ensure coverage & protected from harm. After sanding our eaves smooth, they gave them & front door three coats of paint which filled imperfections & protected them for years to come. And when it came to the Tex-Cote itself, they didn’t skimp! First, a primer coat was applied then after it dried, the final color was sprayed on thick & even starting from down below ground level to the very underside of the eaves high up on the second floor. Then after that was complete, the team touched up the eaves with one more coat! When the house was done, they cleaned everything, making sure that I was happy with the project before they got in their car. The process took a couple of weeks & it was worth every moment.
I believe the word that best describes a Fitzhauer job is “Class.” I don’t know where they find their employees, but they’ve got a magic touch. Professionalism is one thing, but you can see it in the finished product when someone takes personal pride & interest in their work. They understand that it’s not just a job, it’s someone’s home. Making sure they care enough to do it right is a priority. Our house went from budding eyesore to neighborhood showpiece & once again, the best part is that we didn't break the bank doing the upgrades thanks to their great financing options.
Our continuing experience with Fitzhauer Construction was extremely positive & I would definitely recommend them for your home improvement needs. So I’m telling ya, take the plunge, do the deed, take the bull by the horns & jump in with both feet because working with Fitzhauer is going to be a great experience!
