Our experience with Five Star Fence began after they provided the best bid. (at the middle of April) They said they were two weeks out and that the job would take roughly a week to a week and a half. Included in this was the removal of the old fence, 6ft vinyl where the old fence was, and two pieces of landscaping. (raised garden and extended sandbox) During the initial inspection for the bid, it was identified that a retaining wall for a section of the fence would be necessary to keep the ground off the new fence, this was theoretically included in the estimate. I say theoretically because an official estimate was never provided, thus everything was a word of mouth. (That was my mistake)
After paying the first half up front, we waited the two weeks and expected to see Five Star Fence show up, instead, I received a text telling me that due to the weather, they wouldn’t be able to come for another week. The weather had indeed been bad, so we waited. The next week, the reason for not starting was again the weather. Weeks 3, 4, and 5 were delayed due to weather. (1 week At week 6 I asked for an official, written, invoice. I never received one. (should have caught the red flag) At this point, they came, removed the existing fence (they were very efficient and did a good job) and put some of the vinyl posts in. Several weeks passed and the reason was that the bases needed to anchor the posts to concrete on one section of the fence were on back-order. (Why they hadn’t been ordered the moment the deposit had been paid, I don’t know) Finally, when forced to give a solid, non-weather based date, they finally showed up and put panels into the sections they had posts installed at. Several weeks later, when forced to give a date for the final section of the fence, they showed up and completed the work. There was an additional delay for the last gate as well because it was also not ordered when the deposit had been given. In their defense, we caused a week’s delay figuring out a border dispute on one section of the fence and added an additional 3 days’ worth of work to the project due to needing a shed removed and the hole underneath filled. Still, what started out as a project that was supposed to take 3 to a max of 3 ½ weeks has ended up taking 3 months to complete and they still haven’t technically finished because they still haven’t gotten the load of dirt for the raised garden and the sand for the extended sandbox.
------ Update ------
After meeting to pay the final amount, they offered to do the sand and dirt for free minus the cost of the actual material as compensation for all the delays. After that, I never heard from them again, and when I call or text, no response.
In conclusion, Five Star Fence does good work when they show up. They might be better or more punctual if you’re a commercial job, but if you’re a residential customer, be prepared to wait. If you’re a residential customer and need the job done in a reasonable time frame, don’t hold your breath, and don’t use Five Star Fence.

We had great difficulty getting a date certain for the work we needed done. Three of my neighbors had fencing we shared across our yards. They ignored one of my neighbors, never gave an estimate for another neighbor. Appointments were set up and no one showed up. Several years ago they put up a very nice fence for one of our neighbors. We all wanted to continue that quality and look. When they finally showed up, months later, they did a very nice job on the whole. But one gate was out of alignment, wood and old concrete was left behind. Concrete needed to be poured around a couple of posts. When they emailed about the final payment I reminded them of my email informing them of the undone work. After another email or so they sent someone who took the scrap wood, concrete and aligned the gate. So there were more emails about the concrete. Finally we had someone else fill the holes around the fence post and mailed our final payment. They are a real hassle to deal with. We all are happy with the work done but we will never use them again nor recommend them to anyone. It's a shame because their work is good. But it's not worth the struggle.
