I was connected with Leo of the Flooring Department through Buildzoom to re-tile a tub/shower that a general contractor started but had to quit because he was in over his head and couldn't do it right. Leo's workers did a nice job overall but there were a couple of problems. First of all, cleaning up after the job was finished took hours. The floor was the worst. My bathroom floor has cheap linoleum tiles on it. Dirt was ground into a few of them so bad that I can't get them clean and they need to be replaced. Also, when Leo pulled up a small 4" floor board it ripped the top loose because it was attached with caulking. Leo didn't fix it or tell me about it. I found it when I was scrubbing the floor. And finally, the worst part, Leo charged me an additional $240 for drywall work that had to be done as a result of his and/or his worker's actions. The only drywall work that needed done prior to him starting the project was a small wall needed to be textured and I had planned on doing that myself. During the project he asked me if I wanted him to texture it. I told him to go ahead and do it. He didn't tell me how much it would cost or that he was even going to charge me any extra to do it since at that point he already had other drywall work he needed to do because of a change he made in the tiling plan and his plumbers tearing out a big chunk of wall to access plumbing that was supposed to be fixed from the other side before the new tile was installed. I initially paid him the extra thinking it didn't seem right but it was late (after 7 pm) and I just wanted things finished and him gone. After some more thought and taking time to process everything, I asked Leo to refund $220 of the $240 extra he charged me telling him I didn't mind paying a little extra for the texturing but shouldn't be stuck with the $240. Leo's reply was that I don't get work done for free and he will not be refunding anything to me. I have forwarded a copy of the emails between us to Buildzoom. Had things ended on a better note I would have given Leo and his company a better rating.

The worst contractor I've ever dealt with. If you see Leo Padilla at home show turn and walk away. No customer service, lacks timely communication, no regard for my flooring that was staying or the clean up process after. Project wasn't completed until a month after scheduled to be finished. Went on vacation in the middle of my remodel. Hasn't been in my house for three weeks to even see how his workers finished the projects.
