Our house had asbestos-siding, drop-ceilings, crumbling plaster, and knob and tube wiring. Four Square, took care of every beautiful original detail, saved all of the window frames and wainscotting, and reused them where needed as we made this old farmhouse a beauty. It retains the grace of an old house and now has the clean, open spaces of a modern home. Warm, light, cozy, and open. Frank's wisdom, candor, honesty, integrity and pure aesthetic sense made our house a dream we wake up to each day.

We know several homeowners who have used Frank Bergland for big, medium and small projects. Ours was a big one: Frank built us a custom home - a remodel, but actually harder than a remodel because we took the existing home down to the framing. All new everything: windows, doors, floors, drywall, roof, and a redesigned floor plan, moving walls and knocking walls down, and, a two-story addition off the back. It was a huge project. And we're thrilled with every last detail. Frank and I worked together to design the house, and it was a very enjoyable collaboration. Frank's attention to detail in both the design and the build of the house is unparalleled. He kept an eagle eye on the budget, and when we chose to upgrade from the original plans, he gave us excellent estimates and feedback on what that would mean for the bottom line. I don't regret a thing. The house is truly stunning. It's just what we wanted. No, it's better. His craftsmanship is superb, just beautiful --- and the subcontractors that he brought in were excellent. The crew (carpenters, plumber, painters, etc.) was a smart, hardworking bunch of guys (and a few gals). Respectful and a pleasure to be around. Frank is totally honest and trustworthy, and, gave me great feedback when what I was asking him to do was complicated/overly expensive/not a good value, and potentially unadvisable. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't even consider hiring anyone else but Frank. We had never done any big renovations before, and I was prepared for it to be a major drag, and source of stress, because everyone says it is. Now, no contractor can promise you a stress-free renovation, but I'm jus' sayin' --- mine couldn't have been more enjoyable. He's not the cheapest guy in town, but he's not the most expensive either --- and he's fast, and so that does help keep the costs from climbing higher. And, his work is excellent. I give him my highest recommendation.
