While we didn't ultimately hire Franc Construction, I was impressed with the communication, frankness, honesty and sincerity - and they had the most competitive quote. It was very difficult to decide but I had 5 competitive bids to choose from.

This review's long overdue. I hired this company a while back in 2021 to do some basic renovation/remodeling work on a few rooms for one of my rental houses. I had well-known companies I contracted with for decades ready to start working. But since the work was for a relatively older fixer-upper I just acquired then, I wanted to give Franc Construction an opportunity.
But from someone who has 30+ years of experience in property management/inspection and real estate, the quality of their work is subpar, average at best. The end result is not comparable to images they post online, and was definitely not what I'd expected from a company that advertises 22+ years of doing construction/renovation work.
In general, I recommend clients take the pictures companies post with a grain of salt (like in this case). Obviously, in most cases companies will only post pictures of their best work to get more clientele.
So quality was the first major issue. The second was the delays in the project and the laziness of their employees from the start. I had 6-8 people showing up from 8-9 AM, leaving for 1-hour lunch breaks that would start anywhere from 12-2, and then ending the workday before 4:30 PM, most of the time earlier. And sometimes going back to get equipment/materials/supplies that were forgotten or not prepared ahead of time for a particular day.
I'd explicitly told the guy in charge (believe his name was Francisco, the business owner) I wanted workers at the property Monday-Friday from 8 AM-5 PM until the job got done. This is a standard business day for most people, and also the company's official listed business hours. Franc agreed, but that simply didn't happen. So, as a result, what should have been a simple job done in the agreed 2 months or less took more than 6 months.
So after all that, I've been learning more about their company to see how "legit" they really are. Turns out they had been based in San Jose for a long time in what looks like an apartment complex, but from August 2022 to now they've relocated in a rented single-family residential ranch house on 2062 Anthony Drive, Campbell, California, 95008.
All 8-10 company employees/associates are living and working at this rental. Some of the wood and metal items going into your renovated home are being cut/fabricated, assembled, and stored in the garage and (ON trucks parked) outside rain or shine.
They are not operating out of a commercial/professional district, construction warehouse/yard, OR at least a property designed for commercial manufacture and storage of construction materials/products.
Although they're licensed with CSLB, they are not on the Better Business Bureau. Most of their company vehicles are not labeled with the company name or visibly displaying the CSLB number. These are potential violations. More importantly, it's not professional in the field, especially for such a company that's been around some time.
I was actually quite appalled when I saw that one of their primary work trucks (a 2000s blue Ford F150 LPN 7B15508, which was at my property in 2016) is still in service. As of 2025, this truck's paint is so worn down it's bare metal in multiple places. The snug top is missing the back pane, but the bed is still used for storage/transport.
The truck hasn't been repainted as of this review, or switched with one of the 1-3 newer/spare vehicles Franc has stored on the public street outside his rental. So if you still end up hiring these guys, just be aware you WILL have this blue Ford parked in front of your property for your neighbors to see.
Overall, from my experience with this company's work and operations, I don't recommend them. If you want your house to look NICER after your long-awaited renovation/construction work, look for another company with higher professional and quality standards. There are plenty of them out there.
