They were pruning our tree but at our neighbor's request (they arranged and paid for it), and from our neighbor's yard. I'm totally fine w/them trimming branches that cross over into their property. No problem at all, happens all the time with our other neighbors.
But the guys working for Fred Crum's company came into my yard without asking or even giving me a heads up. Right away, they had attitude. I even helped them to lean their ladder in a good spot instead of up against the rotting telelphone pole they were planning to that would've just collapsed. They didn't seem to like that I wanted to watch them work.
And when I questioned them about coming into my yard, they told me to call the cops if I didn't like it. They called me a liar and then proceeded to call me a "d*ck". And when I asked the name of their company, they refused to tell me. Luckily it was on their shirt. :)
Plus, they basically just butchered the tree -- cutting in the middle of large limbs, not trying to make sure the tree remains balanced, etc. Thankfully I recorded it all so that when the tree gets diseased or starts to decline, it'll be easy to show that they performed work.
