Fred oversaw a renovation of the main floor of my house in Bernal Heights in 2023-2024, which involved removing most of the walls to combine the living room, dining room, and kitchen into one open space. Fred did a great job of keeping the project on time and on budget. Communication and quality of work were excellent.

I highly recommend Frederic Grasset and his team. He did a great job on rebuilding fencing and a deck in our backyard. He also replaced deteriorated siding, making sure that there would not be any future water intrusion.

My late father was head of structural engineering at San Francisco's Department of Public Works. Getting through permitting and inspections is no easy task. Frederic is knowledgeable and knows how to navigate "the system" to avoid delays. He works well with others on a project, including enginners and architects. He can also alleviate the stress of dealing with difficult neighbors. Frederic is transparent with his quotes and timelines and communicates every step of the way. He is mindful of budgets and provides sensible solutions and choices.

We hired Fred to take on a difficult project to correct some previous non permitted work on our house in Bernal Heights. He was able to jump in and handle interfacing w the city to get everything up to code. The work was all top notch and when we had concerns about certain details Fred was very responsive and was able to quickly resolve our requests.

I was looking for a great general contractor to carry out our house remodel, which involved structural work, new kitchen, bathrooms, stairs, and many other detailed work. We interviewed many GCs and Fred was referred to us from multiple references. I'm so happy to have Fred and his team carry out the remodel. There are many reasons why I think Fred was the right choice for us:

First, Fred has been transparent and honest throughout the duration of the project. His communications and project documentations were clear, which helps me understand where we are in terms of project costs and timelines throughout the project. It also helps that with his many years of experience, he has provided valuable guidance to me as we try to problem solve unforeseen issues throughout the remodel. Overall, I'm glad that I can trust Fred to be honest and communicative with me throughout the building process.

Second, I've been very happy with the quality of work Fred and his team produced for my remodel. Things are done the right way, and I appreciate his attention to details throughout the project. The result is a home that I feel great about, that matches the vision I had for the remodel.

Overall, it's been a very pleasant experience working with Fred. I would highly recommend him and his team for any future house remodel projects.

Fred was out contractor for a massive remodel of our entire home. We essentially had to take the whole house apart and put it back together, plus add a whole new floor plus reinforce the foundation.

Fred was amazing. He came in under budget and before deadline. We had heard so many horror stories about budgets and timelines, but Fred and his team were a dream. He was true to his word, beginning to end.

We now live in a beautiful home that fits our family!

We worked with Fred on remodelling our house in 2020/2021. Before starting the project my biggest worries were lack of communication and increased delays/idle time for the construction due to scheduling of subcontractors.
Well both were non-issues with Fred. Fred responded very very fast to our questions and our project always kept going due to Fred's timely scheduling of the work (the main delays were caused by permitting process).

Another thing which we enjoyed a lot for working with Fred was his proactiveness/considerations in making suggestions for our project. Surprise issues obviously happened, and Fred was very helpful to us navigating through them.

We worked with Fred on remodeling half of our house in Bernal Heights during the height of COVID. The project included moving and building a new kitchen, moving the bathroom, and creating a cathedral ceiling which required more foundation support. Fred was extremely communicative throughout the whole project, which included many COVID-related delays. He was flexible as we changed a major design component after demo and always kept us apprised of new findings or unexpected challenges and costed them out asap (e.g. missing existing foundation).

Fred did a great job with a handful of projects in our home renovation. He's quick on his feet and very creative with solutions. We were very pleased with the results and it was great to work with him.

Fred and his team (ask for Frank Tran!) did an extensive remodel of our garage, adding two rooms, a bathroom and connecting it to the main floor. It involved excavating, redoing the foundations, and then everything else - a big project.

We couldn't be happier with the outcome - it's perfect. Fred went the extra mile to suggest things and do things differently from what our architect recommended, and we are very glad for it.

We had the opportunity to work with Mr. Grasset for many large projects in our home. Everything from remodeling our bathrooms, to the vaulting of our ceilings, as well as the massive overhaul on our backyard. With his level of expertise and communication skills it became clear that he reminded me of “Bob Vila”. And now.. years after the completion of the work.
