Matthew Nelson
Owner
We were really hoping to give a great review. We hired Matt to do several projects in our front and back yards. This involved putting down weed liner, rocks, installing irrigation, trimming trees hanging over our fence, and cleaning up the yards. We paid him over $5000. We are easy going people, we thought we had a friendly relationship with him, and that we could count on him to complete the work that he agreed to and we paid for. Things started out well. Then….
Matt agreed to trim the tree branches that hang over our yard. While he did trim some of the overhanging branches, there were many he didn’t trim. We later discovered that he broke the top of our vinyl fence and did not tell us.
When asked about the remaining branches, he claimed that his tree trimmer was broken and when it was fixed, he would return to complete the job. He has not.
He did not clean up the leaves in the back yard “because his leaf blower was blowing leaves into the pool”.
After he left, we discovered several very large sections of rock in both front and back yards had no weed liner under them.
He failed to use a pressure reducer in the drip irrigation system, so the hoses separated at the junctions because the pressure was too high. He installed a new water spigot in the backyard, but the faucet blew out when we tried to use it. The connection was stripped and had been covered with excess Teflon tape.
My husband texted Matt outlining some of the problems and he said he was out of town but would come to finish the work when he returned on March 1st. As of March 22nd, he has not contacted us. We have sent him a number of text messages, as well as a voicemail message. He has not responded to any of our communications.
