    Recommendation for Algonquin's Friendly Plumbing. This company is a throwback to when quality craftsmanship and customer service were valued.
    I became aware of Friendly Plumbing through recommendations and have used them for a few repairs previously. I had them out again this past week for a repair and as usual their work and professionalism were top notch. Additionally their customer service is outstanding. Which, in my opinion, is unfortunately rare these days. And their price cannot be beat. Huge shout out to our local Friendly Plumbing. Five stars in all categories.

    installing faucet in the powder room

    Michael did an amazing Job installing a new faucet in the powder room. He did walk us every step of what to expect. He figured that the main valve has issues and he replaced. The best plumbing company in NW suburbs!!

    sewer line plugged

    Would rate 0 if I could. This plumber left my toilet out in my hallway and my sewer line plugged for 24 hours and then leaving and never hearing from him again! Sewer line pressure built up and burst before the 2nd plumber could come and fix it (within an hour!). Friendly Plumbing ripped my toilet shut off valve out of the wall and hid from me that it occurred (costing me an additional $250!). USE ANOTHER PLUMBER TO START WITH! Further details of my experience if you are interested...
    1) after spending several hours on 1/8/21 trying to clear our sewer line, the plumber had to return the following morning (1/9). After trying again the following morning, the plumber said he thought it was plugged on the village main line (not our line). The village checked the main line and it was not blocked.
    2) numerous calls and texts at that point on 1/10 and the plumber was completely unresponsive despite promising to return.
    3) completely unresolved, with a toilet uninstalled in our hallway (and 2 kids running around), the water pressure built in such a way that pipe leaked through our basement ceiling panels and a bucket-full of sewage waste splattered across our basement floor, behind our wash machine, and our bathroom.
    4) at this point, I noticed that the toilet shut off valve was missing (should be on the bathroom wall where the toilet was removed). I had used the shut off valve in that same location to turn off the water locally to that toilet the day before.
    5) lastly, there's a small chip of brick chipped off in front of our front, outside door (surely from the heavy machinery the plumber had brought in to our house).
    6) I contacted the plumber the following day about the shut off valve and they did not admit their guilt nor offer to repair the shut off valve. Our toilet continues to be unused because I can't turn the water on (locally) to that toilet.
