    If you are looking for an exceptional experience when building your home, I highly recommend Friesen.

    My experience started with a bid which wasn't the cheapest, but was clearly the most detailed, accurate, and one which I trusted because they covered important topics that no other company either considered or was prepared to mention in their bids.

    We were told that the very complex job would take a year, and we were handed the keys a few weeks before the year completed. There were no loose ends, and the finishes were nothing short of amazing.

    I have a lot of personal experience with building and construction (I am an inactive electrician), and could tell that all materials, fixtures and finishes that were included as part of the bid were, without exception, top quality and in most cases, the best you could get for the purpose.

    The site was left spotlessly clean every day and even components (like framing) that were ultimately hidden by the building, were super high quality.

    We were advised by everyone we knew (including the bank) to include a 10% contingency and were warned that we would probably go over that. We completed the job without touching the contingency! I put that down to the company having a superb understanding of the scope of the job which led to a very accurate bid. I suspect that any of the cheaper bids would not have had the same result and could have ended up being even more expensive.

    The final finishes on the home were outstanding, and now (after 5 years) everything still looks like the day we took posession, and we have had no unpleasant surprises - on the contrary, we still discover things that they did that were just superb, that we didn't even know about. Example: a Hansgrohe faucet on the tub failed so I had to get in under the tub to replace it (it was under warranty). The access door to get to the pipes was perfectly placed and was all but invisible until I looked for it, and the installation of the tub (which is hidden from view underneath) was just beautiful.

    I don't think you could do better.
