BEWARE OF THIS POOL BUILDER!!
Chris was recommended to me by a local homebuilding company. That homebuilding company has been great to work with. Chris, however, has been a completely different story. He pressured me to start the initial dig of my pool build while my home was under contract (I didn't own the lot yet). I told him I did not feel financially ready to put 1/4 down on the build on a lot that I didn't own yet. He pressured me saying that it would save me money from having to break our rock wall down, so we settled on 1/8 down. I made it very clear that I only wanted to start the build if it meant we could pause at the initial dig and finish up after I purchased the lot. He told me there would be no issues with this.
Then, after the initial dig is done and the rebar is placed, I find out that the homebuilders won't be able to stucco the back exterior walls of the house without the pool concrete being poured. So Chris and I came to an agreement for me to pay to have the concrete poured and some other work done as well, even though this went against his promise to me that we could pause at the initial dig. I gave him cash to start the concrete pour. HOWEVER I then found out that my mortgage lender would not approve me for a loan with an unfinished pool in the backyard, so the whole project had to be canceled. I called Chris asking for the cash for the concrete pour back as this was never completed. He refused to refund me that amount.
To me it is incredibly dishonest and shady to not refund a customer for a service that was paid for but never rendered. On top of that, the pool he was going to build was so big considering the size of my backyard. This wasn't really obvious until the walls of the house were put up, so it was hard for me as a layman to predict. The pool design he started would have seriously impeded the flow and overall feel of the backyard, possibly hurting the value of the house. There was no thought put into this! It seems like with him it's all about money and just build build build without thinking about what's best for the customer.
Anyway, I do not like to write negative reviews because I try to be a positive person. And generally everyone I have worked with in Las Cruces has been phenomenal. But Chris' dishonesty and unfair attitude have really disappointed me.
I have found that if you shop around in the greater metro area you can find pool builders with better reviews who are better priced that don't charge extra for breaking rock walls and don't add extra cost for sales tax. They also seem to be more detail oriented. My recommendation would be to shop around! Don't settle. A pool is a big project and you should choose a high quality builder. Unfortunately in my experience Chris is not that guy. There are plenty of other negative reviews online that show this.

By Lerien H.February 3, 2024BUILD OUR POOL$88,000
This has been the worst experience EVER! Our pool should be in the ground but is a foot out of it and we believe it’s because they screwed up on the dig and it wasn’t at the depth it was supposed to be. It also has a leak that they haven’t fixed and it’s been months. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!

Chris and his team built a gorgeous swimming pool for us. We did have to wait a bit as there are a lot of people get swimming pools right now and it was definitely worth the wait. Highly recommend!

I would not recommend Chris Reyes and Frontline contractors for your pool. It was the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. It took them forever to finish and there are so many quality issues to even count.
