Unfortunately I am writing a negative review of George Herzog (GA) Construction. He has failed to return to our home and fix a broken window caused by shoddy workmanship by one of his subs.
Most of the work was done reasonably but when a company destroys something and refuses to fix it I can not recommend them. He would not even come back to the house to look at it. I’ve requested him to come back several times. In email communication he even admitted the window was more than likely broken by the incorrect installation when the adhesive dried and expanded under the window sill. I have the email string. By the way, this was the third time attempting to correct the same drainage issue in the window sill in our bathroom remodel.
Too bad. It was the last thing to be done and now we will spend thousands more for new window and tile work when it is replaced by all new contractors we have to find…again.
I was willing to deal with him but he refused to even show.
Beware.

The work George did on the bathroom remodel overall was very good...up until the end. He had to come back out to redo the tile around the window in the shower on three different occasions because they did not make the sill slope out so that water wouldn't pool in the window sill. On the final repair, they put in a sill plate, but pushed up and underneath the window sill to the point where it has caused so much pressure that there are around seven cracks in the window, with more developing as time goes on. George was notified as soon as the cracks were found and has denied that his company is responsible, despite stating in emails that the pressure and expansion of the epoxy from the sill plate are more than likely the culprit. He is refusing to come out to take a look at the damage. His solution has been to mail at $500 check and not take the final $800 payment. This payment may cover the cost of a new window, but it in no way will cover the cost of the work needed to completely replace it, which will more than likely involve removing the tile and re-doing it, for a fourth time. George is not willing to cover the full cost of damage that was caused by work that his company did.
