  I wouldn’t recommend him at all. He came gave me an estimate I gave him half of the money up front then he asked for more money I told him when he finished he’d get the remainder of it. He put down some really bad pieces of wood on my deck. He refused to fix it. The guy is a scam artist I would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND HIM FOR ANY KIND OF HOME REPAIRS!!!!

  Exactly what John said in previous review. This guy is a con artist. Not reliable., does terrible, shoddy work, & charges way too much. Does he really have a license? He was very sloppy, took his time so he could charge us alot more. Showed up whenever he felt like it, & acted annoyed when ever you asked him a question. Do not hire such an irresponsible, unethical contractor. There are so many better ones out there. Do your homework. His enthusiasm at first is gone real quick. Real bs artist. Beware!

  We Hired G and R builders to refurbish our deck. The owner "Gill" came over the next day to see what needed to be done and take some measurements. He seemed really up beat and said he would give us a great price and do a great job. He came back in a couple of days with railing samples and deck color samples. Everything was going well. He then said he would be back in two days on Thursday with a contract with the cost of the job. That's when the problems started. He never came back and never called or texted us back. We tried contacting them by phone and text and they never called back or contacted us in any way. One day while I was sitting in front of my mother's house which is three blocks from my home I saw his truck coming down the street. I waved him down and asked him what happened. He apologized and said he had some personal problems but if it was ok he would definitely come by my house that night. He never showed up again or called us. That weekend I found out that he did work at my in-laws house. They told me his work was good but they had the same problems trying to get a hold of him. They said he would come to the job for a day and then not show up for days at a time. When they tried to call him he would never call back. Like with us he would get very annoyed if they called to see why he hadn't been over for days. I can't comment on his work because he never came over to do the job but if your looking for a contractor the you expect open communication with G and R Builders is not the company for you.
