    Garden Transformation
    $2,400

I recently hired Gaona Landscaping for a full yard transformation, and I couldn't be happier with the results! From start to finish, their team was professional, punctual, and clearly passionate about their work. They turned my overgrown, dull yard into a beautifully designed and perfectly manicured outdoor space. Every detail was handled with care, and the final result exceeded all my expectations. I highly recommend Gaona Landscaping to anyone looking for top notch landscaping services, you won’t be disappointed.

Landscaping, snow removal, fence installation, etc.

I am writing this review as a member of my HOA board to share our deeply disappointing experience with Gaona Landscaping. While we had hoped for a reliable and professional service provider, the quality of work, transparency, and accountability fell far below acceptable standards. Below are key issues we encountered during our contract with this vendor:

    Lack of Accountability and Transparency

During snow removal operations, the vendor damaged a homeowner’s garage door. Rather than promptly informing the board or our management company, the vendor chose not to disclose the incident, apparently hoping to avoid financial responsibility. This lack of professionalism and ethical conduct is unacceptable.

    Poor Quality Landscaping Services

The landscaping work was consistently substandard. On multiple occasions, the vendor missed entire sections when edging, requiring follow-up visits to complete the job.

Heavy machinery was frequently used on soft turf, causing unnecessary damage that was never repaired, leaving unsightly and uneven ground.

    Unprofessional Conduct with Fence Installation

When installing a new fence adjacent to an existing one, the vendor left a noticeable gap between the two structures. Rather than addressing this oversight as part of the original scope, the vendor demanded additional payment to install just three planks to close the gap—a clear example of poor planning and opportunistic billing.

    Misleading Estimates and Billing Practices

Critical items were routinely excluded from initial estimates, resulting in unexpected costs and delays. This low-bid strategy created frustration and forced the HOA to absorb additional expenses.

Duplicate Billing: The vendor invoiced the HOA multiple times for the same service, such as removing the same bush on separate occasions. This pattern of billing irregularities raised serious concerns about the vendor’s financial integrity.

    Constant Supervision Required

The vendor’s work was so inconsistent that board members had to personally monitor and inspect nearly every task. Even then, the vendor often had to be called back to correct errors or complete unfinished work, wasting time and resources.

Based on our experience, I strongly caution other HOAs and homeowners against hiring Jose Gaona. The repeated instances of poor workmanship, lack of transparency, duplicate billing, and unprofessional behavior make this vendor an unreliable and costly choice. A quality service provider should not require constant oversight, nor should they avoid accountability for damages they cause. We have since terminated our contract and advise others to thoroughly vet any landscaping or snow removal company before engagement.

    Lawn aeration
    $160

Not recommended. We hired Gaona Landscaping for a lawn aeration. Quote was $160 which we felt was a good price for a 0.6 acre lot. But like the old saying goes: "you get what you pay for." After close inspection after the job, the lawn was aerated "every other row." The guy even had the brass to (kiddingly) ask me for a tip.

    Lawn service and install bushes
    $2,300

Last spring we hired Gaona Landscaping for our lawn maintenance and to install 12 Arborvitaes in our backyard.
This ended up being a poor decision and have incurred problem after problem but the biggest issue is our bushes. 10 of the 12 bushes installed turned brown and died by mid summer. After many request for Jose to come out to inspect it wasn’t until all the trees had died he finally came and told us we “overwatered” and then no we “under-watered” and finally trees were “infested by mites” when installed.

Regardless, Gaona promised to replant at cost but never honored agreement and chooses not to respond to our communication to rectify situation. This costs us over $2,000 and we are left with dead bushes. We will be filing complaint with BBB and also filing suit in small claims court but we wanted to warn you about this company.
