We hired Paul and his team to redo our Living Room, Foyer and replace our backdoor. Paul is very detail oriented, open to feedback and aims to please. We enjoyed working with him and the quality of his work is great. He built a new mantle and corner shelf unit that really brought the room to life. Paul and his team are fantastic! Very professional and very neat, which is key when it’s your home! We had hired him to fix our basement and garage initially, it turned into a little more than that as we encountered additional issues with our old house, of course. Paul worked with us as we moved through our “discoveries” and made it smooth and efficient. Highly recommend!

We were looking to add a sliding glass door off of our dining room and wanted it to be completed before our sons first birthday party. Paul had replaced our front door and did an amazing job so there was no question in our minds that we wanted to see if he would be able to do our slider. Paul came over, discussed all our options, gave us an estimate and a time frame. We decided to go forward with the project and were beyond excited to see the end result. Paul completed the project in record time and did an amazing job. He started the project on Wednesday and it was completed on Friday. Our sons first birthday party was Saturday and we had so many compliments about our door that it made me smile from ear to ear. It has made our lives so much easier to access the backyard and house, especially having four small kids. Without a doubt we will be contacting Paul for our future projects!

My husband and I were very pleased with Paul’s prompt response, reasonabl estimate and overall work. He had the project completed by date promised and was very meticulous. When the work was completed, we were extremely happy! His cleanup was as though he had never been there.

We had rough leak and reached out to Paul@Garden State Contracting. Paul was very responsive and gave us an excellent estimate so we quickly decided to go ahead and have them replace our 22 year old roof. He quickly scheduled the appointment and delivered on the date. He brought his team and they ripped and fixed some issues with our roof and put down the new roof all in one day. They cleaned up so well you would have never known that we had our roof done that day. Paul and his team are very dependable and very professional. They did a great job and I would highly recommend them to anyone. We will be having other work done at another time and plan to use Paul again.

We replaced our 25-year-old pressure-treated deck with Trex composite decking. After securing quotes from 3 separate contractors, we were most comfortable with Paul Englehart (owner of Garden State Contracting in Totowa, NJ) and his competitive quote. He was more than capable of performing the job and was clear and communicative with regard to details, timing, suggestions, and he was very receptive to feedback and working as a true partner with us on our deck rebuild. Being a composite material, Trex is not a material that just any contractor can work on if they're most often using wood - it takes a lot of planning, measuring (and double measuring), and clean cutting, all of which Paul is a master of. He went above and beyond for our project, using a hidden fastener system for the floor boards and a hidden screw system for the the soldier course that enclosed the underside of our deck. At our request, he also installed a door (for under-deck storage) in the soldier course. Admitted by Paul himself, he shares our OCD-type mindset, and manages a very clean job site, cleaning up the site each day before leaving.

We couldn't be happier with the final product - Paul did an outstanding job on our deck, and given this experience, he will be our first call for any home improvement projects that we do in the future.
