    An honest review at www.gastabuilders.net

This blog is to give you the reader and anyone currently thinking of building a new home or business in our area a very accurate account of how our build with Josh of Gasta Builders progressed. I know, at first glance of the house, it looks really nice. We designed it ourselves from the ground up, and their isn’t a similar style home in our area. Humbly, that’s why we built. We couldn’t find what we wanted in our area. It actually takes a person about 5 minutes after they step into the door until they start to see what we are talking about. Everyone glances around and says it’s beautiful. First thing they do is walk up to the fireplace and then they spot the beginning of our story.

We’ve actually had pros come in and walk out saying “it’s such a shame” would’ve been beautiful. Yes. And we’ve had a couple say there’s so much work to do, they wouldn’t know where to start! It’s true, we have so much work to do it could be years doing it ourselves. All; I mean, all of the finish work. The paint job alone looks 20 years old and possibly been repainted by homeowners two or three times. Drywall with seams showing. Kitchen cabinets not level and with nail holes, chips and paint runs, doors not right, bifold doors put in backwards, Shoddy trim work, floors with holes, gouges, paint splatters, and scratches, walls out of square by 6 inches, showers leaking, ceramic tile grout severely stained, nothing sanded, large rocks, tree limbs, and boulders in a lawn that had been seeded. I could keep going.

I will eventually be including actual emails of our communications, inspection reports, pictures, and any other documentation that we hope will help your decision on using this company. If you currently have already had a run in with this Gasta Builders get on board with us and complain to the LARA Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. We will not stop until the state takes notice of this licensed builder.

Communication and Management I believe is key in any business. The building trade should be no different. The fact that he doesn’t manage his subs stands out huge in the work thats done. No Management. Our inspector; Larry of Van Wert Inspections, told us that our builder didn’t manage his people within 5 minutes of inspecting our project. We were blown away, we had been saying this all along and it took this man 5 minutes to know where Josh went wrong.

Now Josh presents himself and his company as very professional and altogether and seemed like a nice guy. He sold us on the fact that he prided himself on his work and that he does a lot of the work himself. My guess was him and his employees. He wanted us to know that he stands apart from the “Freeland Builders” way of building. Slap em up and on to the next one. We had told him we went through the Parade of Homes for two years now, and wanted to make sure his finish work was comparable because they were finished nice. He insisted it was. Many of these builders wouldn’t build in our area due to distance so we were limited and were batting between a couple of them trying to find the right fit.

The house we were standing in where we met Josh for the first time, was under construction. The finish work hadn’t really began yet. Had this house been in the final stage and looked like ours we would have walked away. I think the issue is truly incompetence and lack of caring. He cares only about the money which is why he left our build for the other builds. To say he was never at our place is actually a compliment when you see the work. No one worth a shit would let that quality of work fly in a new build, no matter the price tag. The fact he stands behind this work is truly amazing and unbelievable and why I see him now as incompetent.

Just to be clear, this is a NEGATIVE review for Josh Gasta and Gasta Builders. So negative that we plan to go after his license as well.

Home Owners Beware! The system isn’t set up very nice for us homeowners. When there is an issue, Contractors have the old “Mechanic’s Lien Tool” at their disposal. We however have only the Court System and Old Fashioned Word of Mouth.

So please share this on Facebook and anywhere you can. This was a big investment mistake for us and we would like everyone to be warned of Josh Gasta of Gasta Builders.

Check out his bragging spot here.
