    Bar remodel

    I'm writing this review in the middle of our remodel. I am the purchasing agent for Silver Star Saloon. we are currently doing business with Gavilan Construction
    Tony Moretti has been knowledgeable and helpful throughout our project. He has been very willing to answer questions, provide solutions and come up with cost saving ideas for consideration. Stay tuned for my final review when our project is complete. I have every reason to believe I will be wholeheartedly endorsing Tony Moretti and Gavilan Construction..

    Plumb in a new European style bathroom

    We used Gavilon to remodel our restaurant/bar. They communicate well and were always available for updates and questions. They not only completed on time,we came in under budget! I would recommend Gavilon construction to others proudly. Very nice and trustworthy team. Thanks guys

    Complete Remodel

    Gavilan Construction did a complete remodel of my 2 story 3 bedroom condo to prepare it for sale. The property required extensive renovation and time was of the essence. The owner Mr. Moretti supervised his employees through out the project and was aware of the time constraint I was under. The remodel was done quickly and allowed me to sell the property in the time frame dictated to me by the selling agent. Mr, Moretti and his crew worked long hours and into the night to complete the remodel. Mr. Moretti kept me informed through out the remodel process.
    The quality of work done by Gavilan Construction is excellent. They provide for me the "WOW Factor"

    I have hired and referred this company to several friends and have had great results. They were very knowledgeable about the projects that they were hired for and were even completed before estimated date. I will continue to refer this Galivan for any future construction needs.

    Major Home Remodel

    The biggest piece of advice I can give if you are thinking of hiring Gavilan, "don't"! Run away! Our experience could hardly have been worse. They will talk a great game of how well they will take care of you all the way up until they get a signed contract. After that, they will act like they are doing you a favor just taking the job. We were even urged to display appreciation for the completion of tasks which were well within a General Contractor's purview. Despite all the talk about having employees, this is a one-man shop, which farms everything out to sub-contractors. They will promise responsible and thorough oversight with a dedicated Project Manager , but you will only ever see their sub-contractors on-site. And the sub-contractors are often confused regarding their own scope within a project. Don't expect much "due diligence" from this company. Gavilan hired unlicensed contractors, which put our project in jeopardy with the city. Communication is terrible. Lack of expertise in the industry is apparent. Don't expect valuable project updates, just many many calls asking for money. And, don't expect any project discussions be had over e-mail. The only response to e-mails will come via a call, where they will use the cover of no written documentation to berate, make threats to stop everything and, that's right, demand more money. Gavilan is not interested in the final product, just each of the paychecks until they get the final one. Due to issues with the contract, we got to see that Gavilan expected a 42% gross profit margin after all subcontractors and materials were paid! This would be the cost for their "expertise" and project management. Oh, and one of the refrains we would constantly hear was, "When this project is finished, I am going to take you out to a nice restaurant!" Yeah, that is exactly what I would want to do after getting fleeced... eat and drink with the fleecer. You would be better off being your own General Contractor if you are thinking of hiring Gavilan. We spent more time covering for Gavilan's incompetencies and borderline fraudulent practices than we ever saved by handing our project over to them and are much poorer for the experience. Take my advice, do your homework before signing a contract with any contractor. Don't just take their references into consideration, check with the CCB, and building department. Check the permits the contractor has pulled and see if you can get in touch with the clients for a real reference on the work performed.

    Kitchen Remodel - Thru Lowes

    Hired as "a professional" thru Lowes - - professional BS master!! This is by far THE WORSE CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER ENDURED. Does NOT have employees, hires day laborers, paid $14 under the table, some are NOT LEGAL!! Worked thru Lowes, loser workers show up to do work without proper tools or ladders. Lucky to get 2 hours of work out of them. Job needs to be torn out and redone correctly. Should have been done in July - now November, still cleaning up their mess!!

    This individual was very difficult to work with. Lowes and Gavilan worked very hard to please this person, all of Gavilan employees are well trained and professional in their performance and appearance. The comments made by this individual are completely fabricated. Before being contracted by Lowes or any other home improvement company a thorough background investigation is conducted on every person prior to being awarded a contract to represent the home improvement company. The background investigation consists of criminal, credit and prior work experience. We at Gavilan Construction Inc. are proud of our workmanship and the professionalism of our employees and are proud we have the ability to pass strict background checks.

    I had the pleasure of hiring Gavilan Construction. They are professional builders and their employees are uniformed and do quality work. They clean up the project area after they leave for the day and I would recommend them highly. They did a complete remodel from demolition to the completed project.
