This company is the worst contractor . I can conclude George Stoilas is a Lier and cheater in working process and money. He worked for my home improvement between Sept 7 to Nov 15.
He has contacted me through Home depot where I have asked the recommendation of a good painter. At the initial, I got positive impression so I hired him home improvement work. Actually when he approached me he did not have a license but he said licensed and insured. Later found that after he got my job and get the license for 6 months validity. That’s why he might push me not to get the town permit on home improvement. Luckily I got all permits and could get the licensed plumber so could avoid the potential disaster if George handled plumbing work.
Just after short period he worked for my house, I should have to chase his work whole day to prevent any trial of cheating process. There were so many bad cases everyday during two months. Let me just take some examples.
He did not paint the area at all like door or ceiling, but he tried to insist or pretended as he did. Many areas he did not paint two coating as he offered.
He often did not complete the painting on one area. If door painting, he does not paint the corner side or inside door.
His painting quality is so poor. Every place there are paint drops, flow mark or stained seriously. As an example he paint the door, then he damage/stain next wall. Request the wall touch up, he damage door and hinge again and revolving such a work continues. That made him busy.
So call sparkling work was not precise enough by missing area or poor way, many areas were remained the ugly condition even though painted.
In some repair work like malfunction of door lock, he did not repair at all but he tried to insist he did. It was lie.
For Door replacement, he brought the defect door and then he did incomplete painting work. Top of that the door could not close tightly because the lock does not fit together. Unless I pointed out they didn’t care and left it as such a crap work until I found out. Many areas I could not find all faults at that time even whole day I stayed next to him.
After laminated tile floor work, he did not install baseboard work, he insist no need.
He did not clear the cement floor before laminate tiling work. So now the floor is not even.
For whole house ceiling Bulb changes, Even I bought 3000k bulb for him as an reference, but he repeated to install 3 times with 3500k(almost white color) with insisting it is same one but plastic back color difference. It is out of my imagination why how he had stupid way to lie.
To install 7 feet metal rack, he screws only 3 screw on bar even though 6 screws holes existed to be tightened. The door lock was not tightened by two screws but only one screw. The door hinge missed the screw…….
To replace vacuum fan, he attempted to just put it on ceiling without the existing duct connection.
When he purchased any materials so poor quality or looks used one already.
Attempted tiling work without water proof treatment on new shower room. The sheetrock was not precisely cut, there was about one inch gab between sheetrock and sheetrock near floor area. But he was trying to tiling top of that gab without water proof sealing work on gab.
He could not do tiling surface evenly.
To build up the closet hanger system, he cut the gypsum board in so rough, it looks already 2nd hand.
After install sink, water was leaking on drain pipe, but he insisted no problem, later another licensed plumber found wrong parts.
…………………………………….. Ample of examples in everyday.
Not only cheating process. He did not organize his work and no consistent on his work process. While working painting work, suddenly door repair work. But none of them were completed at once so messy all around.
So he looked busy due to endless touch up from messy work process and crap quality. Finally I was afraid of his touch up work because it will create another crap work.
Moreover he took my back up tiles after tiling bathroom that should be kept by owner for future any damage, and he sold them out to Home depot(refund). I asked him to bring back. He said yes he would, but still he did not bring them back yet. The amount was very small, how he dares to make money by stealing. I have to keep the tile for future. The same design of tile would not be available in future.
Anyway, after so call finished his work, he promised with his trust offer to come back to touch up the wooden floor which has been damaged due to lazy of floor protection, but he did not come and all his family had shut down their phones on the day promised.
It is shocking to see how such a cheating person could be allowed in the home improvement business.
He might never have done the quality work, totally no concept about what is quality work and responsibility. No proud of his work. I may have to conclude from nightmare experience that he has used to or intended to cheat the process habitually w
