  Terrible Contractor

  Terrible experience with Contractor!!! Beware!!! we are in a court dispute right now. 

  We discussed with him to build our outdoor kitchen, not knowing he didn't have a license from the city!!! Only on the day when we were reviewing the contract he discloses he does not have the license (Lesson: possible reason why he was pushing us not to get permits for the build out). But, he came with a registered license the next day and said he is clear. We wanted to give him a chance respecting his age (70 yrs). Apparently he had no idea of the city ordinances; given the fact we were his FIRST Legal job, the inspectors came in for inspection and failed him repeatedly hence causing a fee for multiple visits. He pays no attention to the owners inputs/requirements and keeps presetting on his own ideas and carries them forward without owners consent! What he said was a 2 week project went close to 3 months. Looking at my back yard was such an eye sore, work was never progressing.

  Our brand new appliances looked like they came from a garage sale during the construction period. We got it even before the concrete pad was poured in per his request. But, they only got handled as a piece of scrap. He does not take measurements of any sorts. Just sticks the appliance on the counter top, observe the fit, drag the appliance out and grind the granite. Very inefficient process and poor quality finish with touch ups everywhere.

  Now, the rain water leaks thru the pergola and down on the counter seeping into the cabinets. What is the point of putting up a "closed Pergola"???? After the job was "over" he trespasses into my back yard to take pictures, when we objected he said "i built this i can come as i please" and stormed out cursing and threatening us. My refrigerator is wobbly and not firmly placed. We wanted him to leave the property even though the work was incomplete coz we were done with this guy. He seemed a threat to my family, hence registered a case at the police department. Don't let him fool you by showing pictures of my yard, I am more than happy to open doors to my backyard for you to check out his masterpiece. 

  Now after this and many other of his endless poor craftsmanship and unprofessionalism, we finally got an invoice for 40% over the contract value! He threw a big pile of crumpled Home Depot receipts and threatened us to pay. When asked for an explanation he stormed outside cursing and called the cops. He is not sticking his hands in our pockets for sure. All he is trying to do is retire with our money.
