By Deb Y.February 10, 2022Master bathroom$20,000
Years ago we had Glen renovate our master bathroom. We had to stop the work & redo it. His team cut through our floor joists. He kept money we paid him for wood flooring for our bedroom, which we never received, and kept giving excuses, implying it was coming. My husband, who is very handy, “sistered” the floor joists, which they had cut through. We also found a cigarette butt in one of the new water lines in the bathroom. The only way for it to have gotten there, was for someone to deliberately put it there. My husband discovered this & said we would have never been able to figure out what the problem was, if everything was closed up in the wall. It was a total nightmare working with him, as far as construction abilities.

By Kevin H.September 4, 2021Renovations and build a room under deck.$40,000Read more
I bought a house that Glenn Design, had done renovations for. Since he had done a lot of the work on the house, I hired him to turn a screen room under a deck into an actual room.
His designs are very good, he comes up with amazing ideas, but his implementation is terrible.
I am currently replacing a wooden pergola attached to the front of my house. The pergola is about 4 years old and simply collapsed. It was built with non-pressure treated wood. I had asked Glenn to address some rotting issues with it and he sent a painter to paint over the rot.
Glenn promised to replace some of the boards in the pergola, so those were not painted. I repeatedly called him and he never came to the work.
Part of the renovations included a deck on the upper level. Drains were installed from this enclosed deck, draining into the gutters, but the deck floor was not sloped so the water pools up and seeps through my living room ceiling.
I asked to repair it and he showed up with a caulking gun. He added more caulk to an already huge lump of caulk and left. I had to reseal (properly) the deck and replace a portion of the living room ceiling.
The room he built under the deck leaks, every time it rains. His workers when securing the railings above this room, ran screws through the waterproofing materials. In order to stop the leaks, I need to have our entire deck and waterproofing replaced. He had his painter come out and repainted some of the windows that had massive drip stains on them.
I’ve had electrical issues that have had to be repaired, live wires hanging in walls, I’ve Vt seen severe structural issues and I’ve seen (not poor craftsmanship), but things done horribly wrong.
I have photos and documentation of everything. How some things got past the building inspector is beyond me.
I hate to trash anyone online, but I feel the need to warn people about his terrible implementations. Beware.

In 2017 Glenn McCrory and his team installed a second-floor master bedroom, bath, and closet to what used to be a storage space on the back of my home. I recently had another contractor complete a kitchen and bathroom renovation. When he opened the first-floor ceiling he was shocked by the lack of physical support for the earlier second-floor renovation. This contractor wouldn’t complete the bathroom/kitchen renovation without installing metal/wood beams across the first-floor ceiling and adding footings and support beams to the basement. The structural engineer brought in to assess the situation was also distressed by what hadn't been done to support the addition. There were several other problems with Glenn's 2017 renovation. During heavy rainstorms, water would seep down the windows on the west side of the bedroom. I contacted his carpenter who installed the rubber roof and nothing was done. I later spent $2000 to have the correct flashing installed between the roof and the gutters. Lastly, an electrical outlet was never wired and constant attempts to reach his electrician were unsuccessful. I hired another electrician who said part of the wall had to be opened to wire the outlet. Glenn refused to handle either situation. I cannot stress enough to be extremely wary of the work done by Glenn McCrory and his team.
