On the positive side, they showed up as promised and Glen, the manager, was very polite and took the time to explain everything that I asked about. They also rerouted some bath fan exhausts, for a price, of course. They also left a big panel of insulation for me to use when the attic access will be fixed by a construction contractor. On the less positive side, they completed all the work around 4 pm, cleaned up, got their tools and stuff and left around 5 pm without an inspection of the work done. Glen asked if I want to see how they insulated the attic but I refused. They didn't replace the rubbery insulation around exterior doors and when I asked Glen said that it looks good and there is no need to change it. Indeed, it doesn't look bad but cold air comes in in the winter, so, obviously, it doesn't insulate well. Also, he didn't offer to show the work done to insulate a room on the second floor. Next day I noticed that the cut in the wall (back of a mini-closet) hasn't been closed back at the end of completing the work. I tried to do it myself only to realize that the insulation they put on the back of the wall panel goes almost all the way to the edge of the panel and, thus, there is no way to put it back and close the hole in the wall due to some studs. Now I have a big whole in the back of that mini-closet through which lots of hot air and noise comes into the room. And I have to remove the insulation and insulate that panel myself in order to be able to close that hole in the wall. Overall, they did insulate everything required but the quality of a contractor is reflected in the attention to details that is or isn't present in the work they do.
