We extended our family room 21 x 4 and removed old fireplace rock and replaced with new rock and mantle. Alex Padilla who is the owner and project manager was outstanding. Alex gave us a reasonable quote and we only made minor adjustments up that we requested. Alex was always available by phone and text and we rarely went more than 1-2 hours waiting for a response. Most responses were within 15-30 minutes. Alex answered questions, proposed solutions to unforeseen problems and was consistently professional, friendly and optimistic. We adjusted a few completion dates due to delayed products or our schedule. Alex completed the job the actual day we agreed on and we were most appreciative of his crew and level of productivity. We plan to work with Alex and his crew at Golden Bay Remodeling in the future. Highly recommend. Al and Linda Lang

Alex and his team did an amazing job on our home this summer. We remodeled an existing bathroom to make it a master bathroom, moved some walls to add a new closet, added another brand new full bathroom, upgraded the whole house’s electrical system including ceiling fans and recessed lighting, upgraded the plumbing system to copper pipe, and added insulation throughout the attic. An independent architect drew up the floor plan and my wife and I designed what we wanted done. With it being our first time remodeling, we needed some extra help with design details and where to find materials, etc. Alex gave thoughtful, honest advice, and helped us along the way while saving us some money. It all turned out beautifully. The project took basically the original amount of time we anticipated, and as other small jobs were added, they worked hard to keep the additional time to a minimum. The quality of work is excellent, and the guys came back to make sure everything was perfect when we had minor things that needed fixing after we moved back into the house. The price was also very reasonable for the Bay Area (Oakland) and it was lower than the other quotes I received. The Golden Bay Remodeling team was a pleasure to work with!

Short Version: We loved working with Alex from Golden Bay Remodeling. Our bathroom remodel project finished on-time, on-budget, and much nicer than we imagined. We would highly recommend him for your next project.
Long Version: We got 4 bids for our project. The first contractor made impressive 3D computer models of the end-result but wanted about two times more money than we had budgeted for the project. The second contractor wanted to do far less than we wanted to hit our budget. When he pressured us to accept his bid on the same day he visited and then refused to pull any of the required permits for the electrical or plumbing work we said “no thanks”. The third contractor visited and took measurements, but went incommunicado and we never heard from him again. Finally, we met Alex and we knew within 5 minutes that this was the guy we wanted to work with. He worked with our budget and actually expanded the scope to include raising the low-hanging ceiling above the tub and reducing a full-height partition down to a pony-wall to make the space feel larger. He helped us locate the tub we had chosen for about $400 less than all local stores advertised.
When we had a question about a design decision, Alex often responded to our text messages within a few minutes. When it came to workmanship, he made sure plumbing met the highest standards... often exceeding that required by our local code. Carlos did a great job laying our floor tile. It was a large format tile with 1/16 inch spacing and he used a self-leveling clip system that made it come out with virtually no lippage. It turned out much better than a simpler tile floor project we had done a year earlier. I appreciate Carlo’s attention to detail when he actually ripped out and relaid the final tiles to adapt to a change in layout. We also appreciated extra touches like the suggestion to use a mahogany hardwood top for the pony wall instead of painted pine. They also made a custom oak transition between the bathroom tile and the hardwood in the hallway because there wasn’t anything suitable off the shelf at local hardware stores. The project finished on-time and looks even better than we had hoped.

Alex and his team are great. I've worked with them on two projects now: one for my complete tear down of the property I bought two years ago, and another for the new bathroom addition downstairs recently. They're very helpful and easy to work with, and there are particular areas they excel in (tile work, counter tops, etc.). They'll work directly with the city to pull all the permits (we all know how difficult that can be in San Francisco) and also interact directly with your architect and others.
Their prices are also very reasonable and most of all, they work very quickly. As I referenced above, they were able to re-do my entire home in only a few months, while producing top notch work.
Overall, I'm very happy that I've found them and I'm looking forward to doing more projects with them in the future.

First off I would highly recommend Bay Remodeling! Alex was fun and easy to work with. He created and even improved my vision for my kitchen remodeling project that we were looking for. He was able to create an entirely new comfortable and more efficient kitchen space for us!
I am so happy and love my new kitchen!
The issues were mainly with the appliance deliveries. Lol

I've used Golden Bay Remodeling twice now. I first used them to replace my roof and found them as a recommendation from a friend who owns apartment buildings. Most recently I used them for a complete kitchen and bath remodel. Alex and his team made the process easy from providing a complete and detailed bid to setting a start date to keeping on schedule and on budget. Alex even provided multiple suggestions for products I could use to make the look of my kitchen an bath better. He introduced me to a French modular electrical product that allowed me to have no outlets on my kitchen backsplash. It made for a clean slick look!!! I highly recommend Golden Bay Remodeling - they do incredible work and a very competitive price.
Alex was always available by phone or text for any questions or concerns. Reliable and timely. Would definitely work with Alex again.
