Carlos and his crew (Manuel and Max) recently completed hardscape work on our front yard remodel. He laid out two flagstone walkways, added a free form courtyard, and poured a small concrete slab by one side entrance. We are ecstatic about the work.
1. Carlos has excellent design ideas. He made fabulous recommendations about the flagstone to use, the grout color, and the color for the concrete. He and Manuel worked with us to refine our design to adjust for the slope of the yard as well as the overall esthetics of the yard and house.
2. Carlos worked with Thompson Building Supply to secure an outstanding palette of flagstone.
3. Manuel and Max are very hard working. They would come to our house at 7:30 am and work until at least 4:00 pm with little more than a half hour break for lunch.
4. They excavated the areas; poured 4"+ cement with rebar; then pieced together the flagstone, trimming and shaping each piece while mixing sizes and colors to create a stunningly pretty set of walkways. After that, they mortared and grouted the flagstone pieces.
5. Every night they left the area in good shape.
6. During the work there were a number of rainy days. Carlos was very good about letting us know whether his crew would be able to work based on the weather, and he maintained excellent communication with us regarding when different parts of the job were going to occur.
7. Carlos' prices are not the lowest you will find. His prices are very fair, however, considering the quality of the work performed.
We recommend Carlos without reservation for hardscaping work. We will certainly hire Golden Leaf Construction for future work, including pool restoration work.
