The painting that he did was fine. However I accidentally wrote him an extra check for $800. I realized my error within a day or two and called him about it but he had already spent it. He asked if he could pay it off in a month, but was unable to do so. I offered to let him do some more painting to work off the $800. He agreed but did not show up on the agreed-upon day. He did not respond to my texts after that and has totally ghosted us at this point. So we are out $800. At this point I don’t want him in my home. This site requires me to select one and four problems. The closest is “took money and quit” though actually he accepted a check, written in error, over and above what I had agreed upon up to that point (that was actually some other work as well as some painting) and then failed to show up to work off the money I had paid an error
