I recommend to AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
My family was completing a whole house renovation project. Our contractor hired Got Paint, owned by Francisco Angulo (nicknamed Paco), as the subcontractor to paint the interior of the house (including all walls, ceilings, baseboards, and doors) and to paint a few new small sections of stucco on the exterior. We decided to use the exact same paint colors/brand we had used at our old house. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience working with Got Paint:
1) We provided Paco the interior paint colors/brand a month prior to starting the paint project. A couple days before starting he said that he would have to charge us extra for the Benjamin Moore paint we requested and for painting accent walls. This was a surprise/hidden cost that was brought up despite them having all the information well in advance.
2) Paco rarely came by to manage his employees or to inspect the work.
3) The painters did not sand the newly textured walls/ceilings prior to painting. After some of the walls had been painted, I noticed that they were as rough as sandpaper. When I mentioned it to Paco he said that it typical for orange peel texture to be very rough, but I told him I have lived exclusively in houses/rentals my whole life with orange peel texture, and I had never felt rough walls. I confirmed with other painting companies that the walls should have been sanded prior to painting.
4) The project was delayed because our new interior doors were backordered. However, we still needed to move our stuff into the house. We asked Paco to have his team paint our living room and master closet first so we could pile everything in those 2 spaces. He spoke to his team, but they ended up painting random rooms, and did not finish the living room or closet in time.
5) Different painters were sent to our property each day, with no communication of what had already been painted or what needed a second coat of paint.
6) Multiple rooms were painted with the wrong paint sheen (for example, the top half of our living room wall was painted with satin and the bottom half with eggshell).
7) The painters forgot to paint parts of the house exterior and in the garage.
8) The painters informed us that Paco told them to minimize the use of drop cloths and plastic coverings to save on cost. As a result, his painters dropped a lot of paint on our brand new carpets, new floors, moving boxes, and furniture. We also asked them to cover an antique China cabinet that is a family heirloom, but the cabinet had multiple paint marks with 2 different colors of paint.
9) Paco claimed that the exterior house paint could not be matched, and aggressively pushed to repaint the entire house white instead of the beige color of the house, which would have been much more expensive. However, he had never attempted to take a paint sample to a store to match the color until we asked him to do it. The paint color was then matched almost perfectly.
Whenever we would approach Paco about any issues he was immediately and aggressively defensive, making countless excuses. He would speak to us condescendingly, saying things like, "yes, well this is what is called 'wood,' so it's not going to be perfect." We paid Got Paint more than 3 times what we paid a different company to paint the interior of our old house, and we were left with terrible results, which we are still fixing ourselves.
