Owner
TLDR: Gustavo and his team did not do the work they agreed to do, and left my house in an unsafe condition. Now he refuses to respond to my texts or calls. Do not hire them.
This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with a contractor.
I hired Gustavo and his team to install new panels and replace the old, two-prong outlets with three-prong outlets. I had to reach out to Gustavo to see if they were done because he never contacted me, and he never provided me with a list of the work they completed. We found out right away that they neglected to power our furnace, so we had to have one of his crew members come back out and fix that after having to pay a furnace technician to evaluate the issue. At least that time, Gustavo sent someone back out to fix his mistake.
They also only installed one three-prong outlet in each room and installed two-prong outlets everywhere else which is not what we agreed upon.
A few weeks later, the breaker that goes from our main panel to our sub-panel stopped working, causing us to lose power in half of the house. Of course, our furnace doesn’t work without power, so we were also without heat. This happened after 5PM in January, so we needed it fixed right away. Gustavo didn’t answer multiple calls and texts, so I had to call another electrician to come out, and I had to pay after-hours rates. This electrician found that the breaker Gustavo installed was faulty. But even worse, he found that Gustavo did not ground the main breaker, which is very unsafe. I can put up with a lot of things, but that is unacceptable.
In addition, we have since found that some of the outlets they installed do not work.
I have tried many times to contact Gustavo and he will not respond. He is dishonest, and refuses to fix all the problems he has caused us, including not grounding the main panel, making our home an unsafe place to live.
In summary, Gustavo and his team did not do what they said they would, and the work they actually did was not done well. Absolutely do not trust them to do any electrical work, big or small.
