Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE)
Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) is a means of financing energy efficiency upgrades or renewable energy installations for residential, and commercial property owners. Depending on state legislation, PACE can be used to finance water efficiency products, seismic retrofits, and hurricane preparedness measures. Examples of energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades range from adding more attic insulation to installing rooftop solar panels for residential projects and chillers, boilers, LED lighting and roofing for commercial projects. The loans are repaid over the selected term (over the course of somewhere between 5 and 25 years) via an annual assessment on their property tax bill.
One of the most notable characteristics of PACE programs is that the loan is attached to the property rather than an individual.
PACE programs help home and business owners pay for the upfront costs of green initiatives, such as energy efficient upgrades, which the property owner then pays back by increasing property taxes by a set rate for an agree upon term ranging from 5–25 years. This allows property owners to begin saving on energy costs while they are paying for their energy efficient upgrades. This usually means that property owners have net gains even with increased property tax.

I do not recommend this Company. Defective work that was done on my house by this company. This company put a new roof on my house in September, 2017. After the initial replacement, the roof leaked in my Family room, and at the front window This part had to be removed, roof repaired and replaced. Later after a very hard rain, I walked onto my back porch and it was flooded because the roofer did not seal the awning to the new roof. (I was told that this roofer had been in the business for 37 years.) So this had to be done. Now, the vents on the roof are broken and need repair. The vents should be new as the old ones were supposed to be replaced when the new roof was put on. 2) the new screen door was to small and too short. The GPB's manipulated the door to make it fit, now the door doesn't not lock. When I contacted Christi, she told me to contact the Manufacturer as it was not their problem. However, once GPB manipulated the door, the Manufacturer's Warranty is no longer valid, now the screen door does not lock. 3) I've contact Christi over a period of seven months via phone calls, text messages and emails requesting copies of the Warranties for ALL of the work done on my home. While she has responded, to date she has failed and refused to provide any Warranties for any of the work that was done on my home. AND 4) GPB had the awning posts replaced with new extender posts. When the old posts were removed, holes were left in the areas. I asked the General Contractor, Mario, if the holes would be filled and evened out, he said yes. Instead of filling the holes with cement, they added red dirt to the area where I had plants. Large holes remain along side the drive way, and could cause injury to someone. I paid this company $30,000.00 via a loan, to do repairs that they claimed they could do. I did not expect to be provided with substandard and defective work by unlicensed and unskilled workers that did not know how to do the work they were contracted to do, and they claimed they could do. I have now filed a Complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
