Greg Franck Builder Construction
My career as a builder started in 1972, first fences and retaining walls, next I specialized in shingle and shake roofs. I soon realized that building was my calling and I wanted to do it all. I started remodeling homes in the Los Gatos area and succeeded in securing a contractors license in 1978. I moved to Sonoma County that year and ended up building custom spec homes for a local developer for over ten years. I ran a crew of six to eight men and we built four homes per year on the average. When the developer started doing sub-divisions, I went back to my first love, home remodeling. Over the 40 years of my building career, I have been fortunate to work with some gifted architects and many different engineers. I have learned my way around design and the importance of working with other professionsal to produce a quality finished product. I consider myself a problem solver, one who can make the right decisions when unexpected conditions are found during the remodeling process.

I have been working with Greg for the last 7 years on a wide variety of renovations and new building projects at my home. My husband and i are so grateful to have found him. He is honest and reliable and i have never worked with anyone who is more sensitive to cost. On each project we gave him a budget and he was dogged in sticking to it, being sure to counsel us when we wanted to stray -- but understanding when we really wanted to spend the extra dime. It's almost as if Greg is unable to spend more than necessary -- we needed a few pieces of fine wood and he brought them, as well as other items, from his own home rather than having us purchase them.
He is creative and wise and one of the best problem solvers I've ever met. We have lived for years with the projects greg has built and can't think of a complaint. The quality is impeccable and the expert decisions he made have stood the test of time and a lot of use. Again, I can't recommend him highly enough. His intelligence, creativity, and experience combined with his very reasonable price and commitment to your budget all add up to an ideal contractor. -

We've had a very different experience with Greg than the prior reviewer. Greg did all of our building and remodeling work for 20 years -- ranging from small projects like a garden shed to a major remodel and addition to our home and a new free-standing 3-car garage with apartment above. Greg's work was always good and has stood the test of time. Also, while we always started with a budget, we worked with Greg very successfully on a time and materials basis and always felt like we got very good value for our money. There are always unplanned surprises in construction (especially remodeling) but we found Greg to be a skillful problem solver and a trusted partner in all of our work together.

I have worked with Greg on four major projects. All four projects were unqualified successes.
I specifically like Greg because he understands buildings. When he discovers that something needs to be fixed he goes back to the root of the problem in an old building and brings it up to standards.
Greg's experience and insight have proven incredibly valuable to me.Not only have I recommended Greg to friends, I am looking forward to working with him again. Within my group of contacts Greg has done over 10 major projects. Each one has been a success and I know that those people are recommending Greg also.

When I interviewed Greg for our major remodeling project, I knew we had found our contractor. He is personable, honest, dependable, very easy-going, and he cares. He worked well with me and my architect, and made suggestions to bring costs down, while maintaining quality. I've heard horror stories about how some projects drag on forever. There was none of that with Greg and his crew. In half a year, Greg had transformed our dark ugly 1970's house into a lovely light-filled new-millennium home. I will definitely seek Greg out for my next project, and highly recommend him.
