After a long, exhausting, search to have someone put a deck on my old home prior, during or after selling, I ran into this “guy” Gregg Pitzer, I wish it would’ve never happened. We signed a contract together, back in 3/2023 and resigned 6/2023. At that time, he stated that he would begin installing the week of Labor Day 9/4/23, and it would take 10 days to complete, all of which were fine. He was the only contractor to arrive & complete an estimate with some material on hand to choose from; although he did not offer any discounts whatsoever. He did show up with material. Fast forward, I’m thinking he would’ve started building by Friday 9/9 thinking completion by 9/19 at the latest. (Well I was wrong) I was informed on 9/20 that he hadn’t even started. I sent a text to him only to get confirmation that he hadn’t started and then it was one excuse that led to another, ultimately telling me he could not get the “new line” of selected deck rails that we had picked months prior. However, when calling the local Lowe’s in 150 mile radius; all stores had the deck rails in stock…, “there were over 125 of them in stock.” Ultimately, Gregg became very rude, vulgar and demeaning when speaking over the phone. He continued to tell me that (HE DOESN’T TAKE SHIT OFF OF CUSTOMERS.) I was only asking simple customer service questions; such as why hasn’t the job started, or are you able to get rails somewhere else etc. etc. he refused to answer my questions. I called Trex, directly to not only verify his direct relationship with them. I also also asked if he could simply go by Lowe’s and get the deck rails and request the difference from Trex, in which Trex replied… yes that that is definitely a possibility. As long as the customer is served, they would definitely reach out to help. When I got off the phone with Gregg on the 9/20; I was under the impression that he was going to write his wrongs and get it done. Instead he decided to hide in a dark closet send an email to the people who bought our home whom was patiently awaiting their new deck and notified them he was backing out of the signed contract. He DID NOT inform me in any way, shape or form! At this time, I am making arrangements to have a day in court. I don’t think the builder understands how liable he is in this situation, but he’s about to find out all you needed to do was the following…. be professional, stay on the same page, write your wrongs and do an honest & ethical job, all in which you chose not to do. Good luck in your future endeavors however, anyone looking for a deck I can confirm this guy is about $2500 more than anyone out there when you’re trying to keep it in the community like I do. He offers no discounts whatsoever and treats his customer with complete disrespect!!! In the end he doesn’t care. FYI, this is the level of ignorance you're gonna be dealing with? Just so you know, Trex composite decking from Lowe’s buying all material for a 12x24 is just under $6000. This guy wanted $17,000 for material and install with no discounts. I have the information and I can upload it if needed. I would say…. respectfully, stay away from this clown. He needs to learn how important customers really are!!!
