Problematic attitude and work ethic. I was over charged and disappointed. I paid $1500 for eight hours of labor. The work was sloppy, large gaps in the wooden steps. I bought the materials and at least $500 in materials were ruined. When I asked him to come back and fix the work he yelled at me and insulted me. Buyer beware!

I was purchasing a fixer upper house and reached out to Paul from a Facebook recommendation in Sept 2021. We met. He looked at the house. He gave me a bid sept 25th for $21,000 and if I booked with him for the winter he would knock off 15% labor. Brought the cost down to $18,900. We booked with him in October by paper contract. I paid him a $10,000 deposit by check in November when we closed on the house. He started work the first week in January. He told me he would have the whole job done by February 1st. He worked only on my basement laundry room and bath for that month. He never started the other 2 bathrooms, dining room, kitchen, sunroom, doors or upstairs flooring. In February when he wasn’t even finished with the basement he said he had to go do another job and would come back either March 7th or the 15th for the rest. I messaged him to tell him when my kitchen cabinets would be in and messaged me and said he wasn’t coming back because he is “way behind and can’t get caught up.” And he “physically can not afford to come back and finish” and he “has to worry about my family and situation first”. Meanwhile he is advertising all over Facebook for spring work. He did maybe a quarter of the quoted work. I bought most of the supplies for the entire house and they are all sitting in my garage. Most of our belongings are in a storage pod in my driveway as we were expecting our house to be ready to move in in February. He verbally told me that he wasn’t making anymore money on the job and couldn’t afford to finish. He admitted to bidding the job low to get the work and he feels like he did enough work for $10,000. But I did not pay him $10,000 to only work on my basement. He started on the basement so we would have a place to go to when he was working on the rest of the house. Now I have to find someone quickly to finish the work so we can completely move in. And the work he did in the basement is awful. Drywall is bumpy, painting is sloppy, doors and trim don’t line up. He blocked me from leaving a review and he blocked me from messaging him.
