I had a small, but complicated, job walling up a new "warm" air return duct installed in connection with retrofitted for air-conditioning. In one area the duct made a couple turns in a walk-in closet and was not plumb or square. Too much space would be lost trying to frame around it. GTO did a great job of shimming the dry-wall and attaching it directly to the return sheet metal. They also did a fine job on another floor with standard framing to which the dry wall was attached.
