Gulf Stream Restoration & Cleaning

I wrote my first review on August 29, 2019. Unfortunately, it is with great sadness that I have to revise my recommendation for Gulf Stream Renovations. They did the bulk of the work in my condo in July and August 2018. There was a punch list that needed to be completed. I had to return to Florida in September 2018. My friend was supposed to let the crew in to get the list done but was unable to coordinate with Joe. When I returned in July of 2019, I gave Joe plenty of warning that I was coming and wanted to get the job done. Unfortunately, Joe was extremely unresponsive to my requests.
Once living in the condo, the punch list got longer! Joe did not pull any permits for the work done. I was going to sell the condo and needed to get things inspected. Everything failed inspection. Joe came back and fixed most things. Some of thing things failed a second time. Joe never fixed some of the things. I had to pay another contractor to get the work done.

I am from out of state and bought on old place in Lakewood. I interviewed many local contractors and decided to go with Joe and Judy. Firstly, when I met with Joe, he took me over to a house that he had just finished. I was blown away by the workmanship. It was outstanding. Secondly, I had a time frame for completion that he said he could meet. Thirdly, Joe said I would have the quote by a specific time and sure enough that deadline was met. Fourthly, the price was fair and within my budget!

My job started as a kitchen and 2 bathroom renovation, painting the entire place, a new bow window, new flooring throughout and a new garage door. Unfortunately, the job got more complex because as I said earlier I bought an old place. Joe found mold in the a/c ducts and in the attic, there were leaks in both bathrooms because the pipes were so old, the place had had termites but no one repaired the damage, and the list goes on and on. Each time Joe let me know how much it was to remediate the issues. Again, Joe and Judy were fair with their pricing.

I decided to have Joe fix up the outside. He put pavers in the front for a patio area. Gorgeous!

Please note that I have had a lot of experience with construction as I have designed and built 3 houses from scratch, and I worked FOR a custom homebuilder! I am hard to please and demand that things are done correctly. I can say that Joe, Judy, and their crew were professionals in every sense of the word.
