My experience with H&D was a nightmare. Harvey, the owner, did more damage than good. I now have to pay $900.00 out of pocket to repair my bathroom and $400 to repair my deck. From the beginning, Harvey was hard to settle on a start date, having to call him various times. He said he could start the job immediately but began a week later. He spent 3 hours on my deck power washing it too hard therefore ruining the rail boards that now have to be sanded down. He Was to replace 2 rotted boards only did one and only nailed it down with single nails rather than double nails to hold it down. He used indoor white plaster to fill in cracks and holes. He wanted to get 2 men to come on my property to stain my deck with an oncoming rainstorm within hours and the temperature being over 85 degrees. He told me the stain would dry within 3 hours, well it rained within 2 hours.
Next, my bathroom. He replaced the light fixture which is the only thing he did well! The new sink he replaced is leaking. He attached the sink to the wall with a piece of wood that you use to frame the outside of the door. It was about 3 inches short. Harvey painted the walls with TEXTURED paint that looks so horrible. He splashed paint on the white border of the doors, the floor boards and the edge of the tile on my shower walls. He used the wrong color to cover a rust spot on my tub so now it looks like I have a yellow ring around it a two toned color that looks nasty and dirty. To repair all this damage will cost me over $1200 including both my deck and bathroom. Oh, I forgot! His truck had problems and he kept asking me for money to pay for the repair since he had no money. He said, “my wife asked me to ask you for some money”.
What a joke. Please do not hire him for any kind of jobs!!!! He will do more damage to your property!!!
