By Manuel T.June 6, 2022Tile/grout sm. bathroom, resurface outlet, drywall repair, baseboard install, re-seal around bathtub$1,600
Hired to do work in bathroom four months ago. Received reasonable written estimate. Very nice, professional, but did not do all the work we paid for and/or lack quality of work. But he worked HARD and after hours to lay 40 pieces of bathroom tile, baseboard picked out from his catalog, some drywall patching, painting, and install a sink. Wasn't going to complain he didn't paint the entire bathroom an did a horrible job on what he paint, drywall patching is shawty, sink install is less then quality, but now that the baseboards we picked out from his pamphlet are coming apart (not wood, equivalent to cardboard) and separating from wall, now we're upset. He charged to paint bathroom, install and paint baseboard, and drywall patching. Extremely unsatisfied. He gets one star for being polite and courteous otherwise ripped off by $5-600.

Was honest, reliable, affordable and really knows his trade. I highly recommend this contractor. He was patient and explained several options we could go with. Jeff was the best contractor on our entire building project.

They did okay. They're not cheap, they're a little bit pricey, so I can't give 'em a 5 because they're a little bitl pricey. I don't remember (how long the project took to finish). I think they did a pretty good job. They could have made me save some money.

I needed a contractor to replace my water heater so I came in contact with A R S American Res Serv or CA. They seemed to do well overall in regards to the project. They came and they did the project well without causing additional hassle for me. I would recommend them for being courteous all the time.

Our experience with Nakao Construction was the polar opposite of the other review I read on this website. Both jobs performed at our home (about 6-months apart) were wonderful and completely professional. Mr. Nakao and his sub-contractors were working daily in the most efficient use of resources that I have ever seen or heard of in the construction business. Mr. Nakao was very responsive to our concerns and calls when they arose (like the exhaust fan problem). Each sub-contractor gave us their business cards, had vehicles with their company logos and had brick and mortar offices of their own. The remodel of our converted patio to bonus room took a down-to-the-studs demo into a finished master bedroom in 3 weeks. Our kitchen remodel took an extra week (4 weeks total) instead of three only because our kitchen designer specified an exhaust fan that was no longer available and Mr. Nakao was able to order a custom fan system for us at very near the same price as the Viking we had planned on. During the construction, Mr. Nakao also had our antiquated furnace replaced with a modern forced air system and whole house exhaust fan that we have been very happy with. We whole-heartedly would recommend Nakao Construction to anyone planning a remodel or new construction.

Potential victims "BEWARE!!!" This guy is a complete hack! Although he is licensed as a C-36 Plumber, his quality of work is that of a handy-man at best. His prices are dirt cheap, but you'll soon find out there's a reason for that. If you are looking to have plumbing work done and you are looking for quality, DO NOT USE THIS GUY!!!! Trust me here....you will be calling someone else to fix his work and end up paying twice as much.

Contractor does not have a working phone number to be contacted by. This phone number posted is a personal cell phone. The lady who answer is nice but frustrated. Says she gets two to four calls a week but Eugene won't fix the number.

By Mike S.October 8, 2014whole house$130,000180 daysNot a professional contractorRead more
let me start by saying that Danny is one of the nicest guys in the world. that being said, he is not in any way, shape or form, a professional contractor. He is, at best, a handyman that might be able to get some stuff done. if you are looking for a small company to handle small stuff, he's your guy. if it actually matters, hire someone else.
my wife and i recently hired Nakao Construction to complete a whole house renovation, including a kitchen, 3 bathrooms, and cosmetic work to all of the bedrooms and office. Danny is very nice and he came recommended, so when his bid was 25% less than the other 2 contractors, we were pleased and gave him the job.
as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Danny and his ragtag team of misfits were in way over their head. his 'subcontractors' are just other handymen that he works with. the electrician was good and the tile guys were OK, but the rest of his crew seems to be people he finds out front of home depot.
to wit, one of them asked my wife is she knew how to install the gas range; the floor guys couldn't quite figure out that we wanted all of the hardwood floors to be level (that cost extra); every door and towel bar was hung incorrectly. we had to beg him to use matching hinges. the 'custom' kitchen cabinets are already falling apart after less than a year and the hinges and 'soft close' drawers are no better than what one could buy at IKEA.
i have already had other contractors over to fix the work, since neither Danny or any of his subcontractors will come back. As for the cost, well, he forgot (or left off) about 20k worth of details including carpet, shower doors, tile (for the design we had picked), paint (he estimates everything in white), electrical (we actually wanted things to work) and kitchen appliances. He is simply not a professional. After 20 years in the business, he has no idea how to do his job. During this 6 month remodel (quoted for 10-12 weeks) i found myself asking daily, "is Danny a liar or an idiot?" I can safely say, I do not think he's a liar.
