I'm not trying to get anything I'm not entitled to. I have insurance coverage and all I expect is for them to pay for damages. I don't need a contractor to RIG a bid to leave ME money on the table. Not a good business practice. Also, someone not willing to travel to give an estimate without assurance they will get the job is not someone I want. I'll choose between which contractors seem easiest to work with and the amount of their bid. No assurances it will be "worth the drive" to make a bid. That's just the way business goes.
