I would not recommend using this contractor despite the work being very good. He does not provided written estimates for the most part, and does not provide statements as projects are completed, and new projects begin. He does not like his work questioned, and can become unpleasant to deal with if you upset him. He also has a tendency to leave small items not completed, and when brought to his attention they may, or may not, be addressed. In our case they were not addressed. He is work is very good but, not timely. Projects can drag on for extended periods. When we finally decided to not allow him to finish the work on the outdoor kitchen, and back desk he submitted a final bill with a substantial amount due despite being told we would not owe much after paying for the construction of the outdoor kitchen. Despite receiving a final bill we could match the payment history to our payments as he did not provide any receipts for payment received, and work completed. We did not allow him to stain the outdoor kitchen, or back deck as it appeared he felt we told him to " hold off " when in fact he was asked to give us two days notice to clean, and prepare the need work to accept the stain. He was told this on two occasions but, it appears he forgot the conversation. His work is very good but, the items I outlined would prevent me from using his builder again.

Hallie Brown went hundreds of dollars over budget, never made sub contractors accountable. The floors were ruined with sandy grout in the 1400 sf living area. The basement has inches of water in it and he never rectified the problem causing me $25,000, in repairs to a new construction. The $19,000 roof leaked, gutters leaked and I can go on. It cost me $150,000 over budget and a lien on the house, after he disappeared, not finishing this custom home. Never use this builder.
