Although I believe HPD had good intentions of helping us with our home renovations, they did a horrible job and left us with unfinished work and broken property. Both Luis and Rigo (and the carpenter) had apologized for the poor job and had blamed each other of not knowing what they were doing. They had us believe that they were licensed plumbers and electricians but we now realize after sewer smells are coming into our home from the work they did, all 3 sinks that they installed leaked within a week of their install, and one of the light switches they installed blew up when we attempted to turn on a light we confronted them and they admitted that they were not electricians or plumbers. After spending more money for a licensed electrician and plumber to come in to inspect the work HPD did, we found out that nothing they did was to code.

They constantly misplaced items that we purchased and when confronted, they told us that they were never in the packages. After a few days, they would find all of the missing pieces ... After having us spend money to reorder.

Many of the CAT6 connectors that they installed do not work. None of the wall plates are straight or even to each other. They left much of the job unfinished (ie. the 2nd floor ceiling and the door that was supposed to be installed under the stairs.)

They rushed the painting of our home and didn't prep any of the walls before painting. When we were letting them know about the horrible paint job, Luis said he threw in the painting of the house for free ?!?!?
He didn't even read the contract that he signed!!! It was not "free" it was part of the scope of the project!!! WE PAID FOR IT!!! There are patches of unpainted wall all over and obvious brush strokes. They didn't even paint over the markings on the doors where they measured where to cut. I have never seen such an unprofessional paint job. They installed all new wood floors but didn't level them (so no furniture can sit even) and the "finishing" of the floors are horrible.

They added drywall to the attic which we never agreed to and after the work was done, they decided to tell us the price was an extra $6000!!!

Speaking of the attic, they decided instead of reading the instructions of how to install the attic stairs we purchased that they would just "wing it" and cut 12" off the $2000 stairs we purchased. They are totally destroyed and dangerous. We had to repurchase the stairs... Take a look at the picture of how they left the attic and keep in mind that it has cost us $10000!

There are so many other things that have gone wrong with Hand Painting Design Corp. to write about.

As mentioned before, they admitted to us that they did many things wrong and apologized, but they kept all of our money and thanked us for teaching them an important lesson about what subcontractors they would not use in the future.

Beware and stay away from Hand Painting Design Corp!!!
