By RachelAugust 8, 2021Bathroom Remodel & Hot Water Heater Replacement$45,000Read more
Larry Owens remodeled my bathroom in June/July 2020 & replaced my hot water heater in August 2021. I was originally happy with my bathroom but this was prior trying to working with Larry on warranty work. Below are the items that he has already had to come out to fix (7 visits so far):
• Soft Close on custom cabinet - 3 separate times
• Shower Door too big - Glass vendor also cracked a tile while installing the new door and scratched up the handle.
• Sheetrock around the windows was ripped on 3 windows during installation.
• Several new windows had scratches that had to be repaired.
• Cracked tile in shower that was installed cracked and cracked floor tile that the glass guy broke. There is a new cracked tile after the other two were "repaired" but not correctly.I was really tired of having people in my house making repairs, because I work from home and it interrupts my work each time, which I communicated to Larry several times. I was going to have the tiles repaired when Larry remodeled my kitchen so that work was done at the same time. After Larry quoted my kitchen, it was 20k over what he told me to have saved. I asked him several times for clarity on cabinet quote with clarity on the linear length of cabinets. My bathroom was over budget of what he quoted, so I wanted to make sure that I didn't get to final cabinet drawing, and it be significantly more. Larry refused to provide the clarification requested and through a text said he was going to decline the job. This is after I have spent 45k with him.
Two days prior to him giving me a quote for the kitchen, he replaced my hot water heaters for a tankless which was needed for my kitchen design. After him "declining the job", I asked him to repair the holes created by the tankless hot water heater installation, bring it up to code by installing an electrical outlet so they are not using MY extension cord (which I was not asked if they could use) draped across my garage, verify my water line is grounded (it is dangling in the wall which is a safety hazard), and replace the cracked tiles, correctly. He replaced one cracked tile but cut it (not even straight) around the door frame which makes it stick out significantly from the other tiles.
On August 10, I texted Larry asking for him for an ETA on the repairs and he responded, "I don't have one" and has not responded since. After 45k, it is pretty upsetting that he is refusing to fix the repairs that were caused by the lack of quality of his work.

I needed to replace the cast iron pipe under my 3000 sq. Ft. 60 yr. Old house. I did a lot.of research. Looking for quality work and cost. I looked up and talked to other people that had used Larry owens Hard Work Const. I chose to go with Hard Work and I am so happy I did- The job was completed in the time specified and the exact cost.
