We hired Harder Custom Builders for a major remodle project. It could not have gone worse. We did not get a contract and that was our first mistake. As the project moved along the amount of work for the agreed apon price kept changing and becoming less and less. They abandoned us at the drywall stage of the project. And we have been left with a giant mess. The walls they installed are not straight. The insulation we were quoted for the walls was R21 we recived a mix of the old insulation that was in the walls already R13 and R19 installed incorrectly shoved in tight and over top of rodent mess in the walls and holes you could see daylight thru. We spent our weekend trying to fix it before they rushed to drywall before the windows even came in. The windows they installed after the drywall are not plumb and do not slide smoothly. The window company will not help us because he's there cleint not us so we're left with no warrenty info or pse rebate information. We were left with only the outside of them caulked. The new skylight they installed was not caulked at all. The crawl space we had them clean and insulate was done with R13 wall insulation and put in incorrectly and has random pieces of other products here and there so that had to be redone. The pipes are not insulated at all. The plumbing they installed is not the product we requested to be used and has had to be redone by a plummer because it was done incorrectly the future master showers drain was inverted and would have never even drained. The copper stems protruding from the drywall are not anchore so they wiggle around and 1 is so short it's unusable . The future master shower head pipe was not anchored correctly they even missed the 2x6 stud with the nails so it was loose. They only used 2 screws when it requires 3 screws. The back door they installed was installed with 4"of cardboard and realy long screws while trying to catch the stud that was 4" away they broke the frame and then used tones of trim pieces and caulk to cover it up. We had a french door they framed from new installed it didn't open and shut correctly we found out it was framed to small so it was shoved in creating a bow to the frame on the top and covered that up with the drywall. We had no siding on the front of the house when they left. No gutters on the back of the house at all. During rot remedy they removed the existing gutters from the back took most of the pieces to the dump. Replaced very few pieces of wood on the overhang when we were told all the rotten wood would be replaced . They then took the 2 small pieces of gutter left behind and attached that and said gutters were not in the quote. We were left with no siding on the front of the house at all. We paid 36000. Of a 51000. Job we were told the home would be safe dry and turn key for that amount. They left after we asked Devin for a itemized statement of what we were being charged for what. We were told he was not expending any more time on us they were far to busy and we were square. They never showed up left the key box on the door and never came back. It has been a terrible experience for us.
