By ZigsaueredJune 27, 2018Response from Hardiman Contracting June 28, 2018We did not build a garage. The customer already had a concrete slab with a shed roof coming off of his house and we simply built 3 walls to enclose it. Of course he did not want to spend the money to cut up the slab and lay a block foundation, so the walls were built directly to the concret slab as he directed. We built the walls under existing walls and shed roof where the leak occures. The existing concrete that he already had sloped towards this enclosed little shed that he calls a garage. A garage generally cost $25-30k, but he spent $5k. Yes we put up vinyl siding, because he was on a tight budget and didnt want to spend more money to put a new roof, all new walls up to the roof , footer and foundation, so We attempted to calk and seal the wall and flashed it, so it doesnt come under the walls, but it comes in above our walls on the existing roof and runs down the walls and onto the floor. We got paid to build 3 walls and put siding on them, not a waterproof garage. I dont know what you expect for $5k.... a $25k garage?

By Pat G.September 24, 2017Verified HireDrywall project
Took a month to finish - had to keep calling for someone to come back and finish. Workmen were constantly put on other jobs. Would never hire again. Found out later job was way overpriced.
Response from Hardiman Contracting February 19, 2018I informed Mrs. Garnet that we we're extremely busy at that time and all of my crews were booked out at least a month, however I had one crew that could work evening shift after they finished their regularly scheduled project, She agreed to this scheduling in order to "jump ahead" on our scheduling. I tryed to accommodate her and work with her on the pricing and revised the scope of work to make it more affordable, but the job was not overpriced.I was informed that the job was finished and the worker delivered a check for final payment. When Pat called and told me they had not finished, I pulled them off their current job and had them to finish some touch ups that were incomplete. I'm sorry she feels dissatisfied with the job. I personally inspected the work and the men did a great job, but they could have communicated better with me and the customer as far as being there when they were suppose to.In the future, I will have to schedule people in not so tightly, but I was only trying to help Pat get it done sooner. -

I've had a couple of bad run-ins with contractors in the past, so I was happily surprised to find one that actually exceeded my expectations. I am extremely pleased with the quality of work performed on the restoration and outside painting of my historical home in downtown Charleston. I've even had several neighbors stop by just to tell me how great the house looks!
Response from Hardiman Contracting February 19, 2018Thank you for you kind words and we look forward to working with you again. -

They did a fantastic job of restoring the outside of our historic home in the capitol area of downtown Charleston. It needed a lot of TLC and we couldn't have been more pleased with the completed project.

Built my garage and I pointed out that I was concerned of not wanting any water leaks. The left side of the house the rain and wind always hit it pretty hard. Yes it leaks. He did come out and we talked for about 25 miniutes approximately 7 times, but never was it corrected? They don't take my calls now? Not a carpenter myself but the cheap materials are just another insult. IMHO buyer bewar!!!!!!!!!
I wasn't allowed to leave a minus star?
