    Roofing replacement
    $19,000

    We experienced unacceptable customer service, lack of communication, lengthy delays, excuses, unprofessional & unethical practices. No roof replacement work was done, but Harley’s Construction & Adjusting has not returned any money we paid them upfront.
    After hail storm of June 2023,Harley’s was canvassing neighborhood offering free roof damage inspection. Signed an Insurance Authorization Form Dec.27, 2023. Then canceled agreement on Jan.2, 2024. Filed insurance claim April 2024. Received Statement of Loss from my homeowners insurance company April 11th. Wrote Harley’s a check for $19,000 (have a signed receipt)May 2, 2024. Asked for, but failed to receive a contract detailing scope of work, materials to be used, timing & schedule for any final payment. All summer, repeated requests for a written work contract & job status updates resulted in either excuses, delays, lies, broken promises or no response or communication at all. After direct meeting at Flat Rock office (Aug 29th) with Randy J. again demanded a contract & update. We’re promised a drafted contract would be drawn up, but failed to receive any. After ignoring our calls & text messages we notified Harley’s ( early Sept.) to cancel job since still no materials were delivered & no work on roof was performed & failure to provide a detailed work scope contract, we then requested a refund so we could hire another contractor that we could trust. Did not hear anything back from Harley’s until Oct.14, when their attorney offered a partial refund, deducting over $5,000 for misc. “fees”. & $3,307 for commission ?? Hired an attorney to work out a settlement or pursue lawsuit in court, but found out Harley’s attorney is no longer representing them. Repeated attempts to contact Harley’s business & owner personally- no response & phones now say disconnected or out of service. It’s been over one year & still no sign of Harley or any money refunded. Owner finally responded to a Google review I posted May 2nd. He apologized for “our terrible experience & falling short of expectations & standards.”Said “currently investing situation & want to resolve matter as quickly as possible & will be in touch shortly regarding refund request “. It’s been over 4 weeks (as of June 2nd) & still no communication or contact from Harley’s whatsoever . Not sure what their current excuse is , but totally ignoring this matter is no way for a business or decent human being to deal with this problem. Since no complete description of work to be completed was provided, no mutually written binding contract was signed, we are requesting a refund of money paid to business. It’s just not right to keep all a customer’s money when no materials were delivered & no roof was replaced, no matter what the circumstances are. I cannot comment on the quality of their work, since none was performed, but personally from a customer service standpoint, I’m sorry to say I would not recommend Harley’s Construction & Adjusting or whatever the current name that they may be using.

    Without Harley's help, I would have had major house damage! Came home from work one evening to find someone walking on my roof at the shingles. I notices after the last storm we had that I was missing some shingles, but didn't think much of it. Thought, what is someone trying to sell my wife now? When I saw the damage first hand up close, I saw that the damage was worse than it looked from the ground level. Wayne our Harley's representative took care of everything with my insurance company. We picked out (my wife) the shingles that gave us the best look for the house and the rest is history. I took Wayne around to my neighbors who also had damage from the storm so he could help them like Wayne and Harley's helped us. The craftsmanship was great! The cleanup was superior! The laborers were polite, friendly and explained what was going on during construction. Expected some bushes to be damaged (was frankly hoping some would so I could get rid of them) but everything was just fine. I rate service based on if I would tell a friend and family about them. Yes, I have told family, friends, neighbors, people at work, anyone that says they have a problem with their roof about Harley's. They are part of our extended family now. Thanks you Harley's and welcome to the extended family.
